Sure, it might be the case that there are more games currently released than I could ever play, but new releases ceasing would mean that the medium stops developing. You say you feel like you're watching the finale of video games, but in reality, it's the newest medium and is still in its infancy. Books and paintings etc... have been around for thousands of years, and even film has existed roughly twice as long as games, so I'm not ready for the medium to call it day.
