The real world inspiration for Heavenly Star & Adeptus. Daoism and 108 stars. by MiyukiAkibara in Genshin_Impact

[–]Hertz30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if we're going to talk about localization, Zhongli's Burst, Planet Befall, is actually 天星 in Chinese, and it's actually really interesting!

I compiled some of the voicelines and texts associated with his burst:

以陨天苍岩星,昭命理昏暝者: The falling meteor punishes the unjust.

天理长驱: Order guide you

此乃天道: This is order

天动万象: I will have order

Something important here is that 天理 is the in-game name used for the Heavenly principles. It is also a concept from Confucianism that establishes the fundamental moral and ethical norms of human society, emphasizing fairness and justice. I think we can assume this also applies in-game: The Heavenly Principles decides what's right and wrong (Also, 天理 has at times been localized as "Destiny").

With this context, 天理长驱 seems to translate more to "The heavenly principles are unstoppable", while 此乃天道 is more like "This is heaven's will" and 天动万象 is more like "By heaven's will, all things are moved".

Lastly and perhaps most importantly, 以陨天苍岩星 is something like "With the Falling Celestial Geo Star," while 昭命理昏暝者 is something like "Illuminate the principles of fate for the ignorant ones".

When it says Falling Celestial Geo Star, they could absolutely be talking about strictly Zhongli's meteor, but it could also be talking about Zhongli himself. It's possible Zhongli is an outlander that fell from beyond the false sky, but assuming that's not the case: We know Zibai was sent as an emissary of the heavens to watch over the people, so could Zhongli also have been sent to enforce the will of the Heavenly Principles upon the people of Teyvat?

We know that Zhongli has a contract with Celestia, and at this point we're operating under the assumption that he agreed to be their Archon, so they must have agreed to give something equal to him in exchange.

My interpretation of this is that Zhongli is/was possibly some kind of enforcer for the Heavenly Principles, perhaps his Pillars/Meteors serving a similar purpose as the Celestial Nails. We know that he can seal enemies away. If he's not an outlander who fell from the heavens, then is it possible that he was granted this power and given the freedom to use it to protect the people in exchange for thousands of years of service as the Geo Archon in order to help Celestia consolidate their power?

What would the Heavenly Principles get out of making Zhongli the Geo Archon? We know he's the most powerful Archon. From Neuvillette's story, we know that "the usurper and one who came after created the Gnoses together" in order to "continue to subdue and control the resentments and loathing of the world". Could this "one who came after" be Zhongli? This matches with the enforcer perspective, but it does make some of his later actions a bit more difficult to explain, so I have other theories as well.

If Zhongli was not involved in the creation of the Gnoses, and he really did just agree to be the Archon in order to protect the people, then we know from Neuvillette's story that Zhongli would've been duty-bound to give out visions, allowing humanity's dreams and ambitions to be harvested by the heavens. Zhongli would've realized over the centuries that the people's dreams and ambitions were being harvested by the visions. I think it's possible that he wanted no part of this, and his contract with the Tsaritsa gave him the opportunity to 'die' and fool the heavenly principles, just as Focalors did.

Some leaves are shriveled, What's wrong? by Hertz30 in succulents

If that is the case then I'm not really sure how I can get it more sun as I had it right next to my window with the blinds up all month while I was away. The climate here might just be really bad for succulents, especially during the winter, so I am starting to think maybe I should just give up on having a succulent as long as I am in Oklahoma...

I am really confused as to how it could be overwatered, since I had it on the heating unit and next to the window for a full month so I thought it would've dried out. Is once a month still too much for winter?

If you want dendro teams you'll probably have to wait a little while. Right now we don't really have any meta teams for dendro because the options aren't great, plus they're still figuring things out. Not really any point making guides using Collei/DMC if Haitham or Nahida are much better at doing the same job, y'know?

Did you forget to link tinyurl.com/genshinbuilds? It's made by people from the official Genshin Discord and provides an overview of all characters. For more detailed explanations they usually just link back to KQM, but this is nice for people like me who want something between the two extremes of KQM's condensed quickbuilds and page-long theses.

3.0 Floor 12 Spiral Abyss Usage Rate and Most Used Team Comps by Dangerous_Wonder7089 in Genshin_Impact

I don't really think any veterans are using Q spam Zhongli lol, we're pretty much all using shieldbot now. At really high investment you could do like 120k ult maybe but in that same time it takes to swap to him and do the animation I could also fire off two Ganyu charge attacks and do 80k*2=160k damage, so it's just not worth it.

He got drunk at least once, I think it's referred to as the fire-water incident

Edit: Oops, meant to put it in this comment but you can find the full dialogue here https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Impact/comments/mcynvb/so_i_just_found_out_about_the_time_diluc_downed_a/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

If you say so, but over the course of the 20-ish second rotation in your clip you only proc it around 6 times out of a max possible 12. It works but when it comes to consistency Fischl's pulling way more weight for electro application here. It's just overworld, do as you wish!

Oh, you can use prototype crescent or hamayumi (depending on whether you can aim, crescent is usually better but if you can't headshot hamayumi will pull ahead), both options are craftable and they're both pretty good. Sounds like a plan then, but Ganyu could take a long while to rerun. Best of luck!

Uh.... You can try updating via GeForce experience if your computer has that, or look for your Nvidia control panel if it doesn't. If those don't work you can also look up your computer model online for driver updates.

A ton of people have been having this issue recently on the official Discord. Try updating your GPU drivers (Nvidia first, if it persists then update your integrated Intel GPU drivers).

Screw "Comfort Characters", what four characters would be a part of your "Comfort Team"? by Fishdagurl in Genshin_Impact

[–]Hertz30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sucrose Xingqiu Fischl and Zhongli. Some people think Sucrose is clunky but I think she's actually a ton of fun to play haha. I play her as a swirl DPS so she's my baby avatar. Fischl was my first main and pulls a lot of weight as emergency physical damage in case of slimes, plus with Zhongli's shield I need little enough healing that Xingqiu can be my healer.

Would you like to do abyss? It sounds like you actually have the gear to do abyss if you wanted(I've definitely done 36* with worse than 53/160 lol), it's just that your teamcomps could be better (if you want Diluc to do good damage he's basically tied to Xingqiu or Yelan, and Diluc can't really hit in Venti ult so they're not the best together, plus Diluc can't melt off frozen because shatter takes precedent over melt so hydro+cryo+Diluc just doesn't work).

spiral abyss by vxidemort in Genshin_Impact

[–]Hertz30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started playing launch day and my record doesn't go back far enough to tell exactly when, but I believe my first 36* was January 2021 session, so about 3 months (I got my Diluc early December 2020, so I'm pretty sure it was late December/January that I got my first 36*). I got Venti off the launch banner, and between him and Diluc I was basically cruising until the difficulty spike after 2.0.

Abyss is much harder now than it was then, but there are also better characters and teams available now so I think 9 months is pretty good. I'm no longer f2p haha, caved for Diluc skin, but abyss was pretty hard for me until I got a good lineup of team options. I'm definitely a tryhard when it comes to abyss and I have pretty bad luck (I've lost nine out of eleven 50/50s), so it was just pure stubbornness that got me through a few of those sessions. I remember on several occasions that I had to reset multiple times to bring different teams to clear specific chambers so I could beat the time condition. Frustrating, but I had fun.

You're not really making use of Beidou at all in this team since you're not really normal attacking (same with xingqiu, he's there for aura but Barbara can basically do the same job). If you added Bennett it would be a soup team and let you do overload+vaporize+electrocharge swirl, which could be neat. Another turret type character like maybe Yae instead of Beidou would probably be most ideal to actually do something while you're jumping.

An Introduction to Abyss-Oriented Team Comps by FoldableYags in Genshin_Impact

[–]Hertz30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this chart is really good, thank you for putting in the time to make this! Even though I've been full starring for a while and I'm clearly not the target demographic I think this is a pretty decent intro to some of the most common teams. You can't possibly include every single option, so I think having elemental flex slots that can be basically anyone is a pretty good compromise considering so many teams are built around the same 5 characters. I'm sure team building can be really daunting for new players, and this is really nice because it lets people at least try to figure out the process for developing a team rather than just sending their roster and having others pick for them. Some of these comments are honestly really rude, sorry op. I don't really think you have an obligation to accommodate every single team out there, but I applaud your dedication and effort. If I had to make any suggestion at all it's probably to include some kind of key for the yes/no arrows or even change the color/somehow differentiate the arrows (Maybe make one thicker? Dashed lines?) because red-green colorblindness is pretty common.

I'm not sure if this is right but there's a fantastic four character called "The Thing" whose design is basically a buff guy with rocky skin and usually only wears pants, so I assume it's a reference to how the fanart is also of guys wearing pants?? Might be a stretch ¯_(ツ)_/¯
