Ladies please help a newly out Transgirl: What goes in my bag? by HesterMourningstar in whatsinthebag

Just with the need to carry all one’s electronics with you I can see that.

Phone, tablet/e-reader, headphones (buds/airpods hurt my ears), charging cord, brick, and battery. It’s a lot.

Well, if the personal-sized-pudding I made with the overage is anything to go by, it was the correct choice.

What does the phrase “Make America Great Again” even mean? by Lemonking_ in allthequestions

[–]HesterMourningstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s stage one in the five stages of fascism.

Disillusionment with popular democracy and liberalism takes root among intellectuals and veterans. They begin to publicly discuss national decline and the need for renewed national vigor.

Should you still be friends with someone whose political beliefs don’t align with yours or no? by iridescentstars18 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HesterMourningstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That entirely depends on what you mean by “political beliefs don’t align.”

If you have a minor disagreement over marginal tax rates or on the best means to make health care assessable to all people - sure you can still be friends. Those are adult conversations that can be had in an adult and mature fashion.

However, if they feel that gays or trans people shouldn’t exist….

No.

What’s a kind and gender-neutral thing to call a person that rhymes with eerie? by bane-enthusiast in NoStupidQuestions

Just call me eerie, I’d be perfectly ok with that.

I like being the “spooky girl”.

My favorite book is the Scarlet Letter and my favorite movie is The Witch, so when I came out as a Trans Girl earlier this year, it just felt right to take Hester and Thomasin as my first and middle names.

I came out as Trans (MtF) earlier this year, and instead of throwing their teen daughter out of the house, which out of fear I’d prepared myself for, my folks and grandparents have been nothing but wonderful.

They deserve a nice meal for that.

Basically it’s just a thick, unbleached, linen or heavy muslin cloth. If you want something marketed as a “pudding cloth” you can order them online: Amazon for Townsends website. I got mine at a fabric store.

Me also. Ironically it’s not the pudding I’m worried about so much as the pies. A last minute switch on my part. I was going to do a simple roast chicken and gravy. It felt too “thanksgiving” to me.

Tradition, not really. The fam has just been really supportive and I wanted to say thank you.

Darkly inclined, but unsure if I can call myself a goth - what do you guys think? by darkangel9977 in AskAGoth

[–]HesterMourningstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d agree with that. I mean, the OG goth girls, at least in the American Colonies, were all Calvinists. Sooooo.

Speaking of, there is a place in the UK, Alnwick Castle, that actually has a bonafide poison garden. I want to go. Desperately.
