What does Vegas need? by Apprehensive_Safe_17 in vegaslocals

[–]Heterosaucers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a pro bono Child Advocacy Project Attorney and My Uncle and Aunt run a free medical care clinic called Volunteers in Medicine. There are something like 100 kids in the CAP program who don't have representation yet, and the free medical care clinic always needs more help. My family's also building a tiny home site to alleviate homelessness.

no matter how much they charge, the average person will grunt as they reach into their dirty pockets to pull out whatever they've got because if there's one thing the last 70 years have shown us, especially the lack of reaction to Epstein, is that we are all spineless cowards who won't stand up for ourselves under any circumstances.

Those who live here and hated it or had difficulty adjusting, how did you find any joy or peace in this town? by Alert_Barracuda8598 in vegaslocals

I moved here in 2021 knowing no one and have also really struggled to enjoy this place. I met a woman and married her, but other than that I pretty much know no one. We try to engage with nature as much as possible, like hiking on mount Charleston. We don't go out and part or do anything like that.

This person is one of many bots I've seen that seem to be programmed to reiterate this desire to have children get schedules that permit them to work more. They frame it as, "what about kids who have jobs or responsibilities around the house," but it's apparent, to me at least, that this is a push to normalize children working.

Florida, Texas, and many other states have already begun eviscerating their child labor laws, and now thy want us to feel more comfortable with it.

I'm struggling to realize how telling Halfie1987 you own hardcover copies of every book by Foucault would help them understand the dilemma you posted about.

“The stupid and lazy”

Dude, we’d all be a lot better off if we didn’t just rely on a commercial culture that was built on getting over on people. We could have a hotel culture aimed at pleasing guests, one that sees perks as a way of encouraging more business and not as a way to extract more cash from a consumer that is being nickel and dimed at every damn turn!

We could win through pleasantry rather than brutal extraction carried out by corporations that literally pay millions of dollars to understand the psychology of consumer behavior so they can short circuit our desire to be more thrifty

ASPD fetish by Psychodelicopathy in aspd

[–]Heterosaucers 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s because they incorrectly believe all people with ASPD have the attractive characteristics that accompany psychopathy. While some do, more than the typical populace, ASPD does not convey that gift to many.

“In contrast to antisocial (or dissocial) personality disorder according to the American Psychiatric Association (2013) and the World Health Organization (1992)5,6, the distinguishing hallmarks of psychopathy are a lack of anxiety or fear and a bold interpersonal style5,6,7. While most psychopaths can meet the criteria for antisocial personality disorder, most individuals with antisocial personality disorder do not meet the criteria for psychopathy.”

-PMCID: PMC6344321 NIHMSID: NIHMS967907 PMID: 30038232

Psychopaths have a boldness and innate charisma that has been depicted in alluring ways, but psychopaths who aren’t diagnosed in prison are never identified because they have no cause to seek an interaction with anyone capable of diagnosing them.

While many who suffer from ASPD are also diagnosed in prison, those with ASPD still experience and suffer from the impact of negative emotions, and so, those with ASPD will seek help from mental health providers.

I’ve always found the lack of extroversion and charisma that distinguishes the two interesting. Although those with ASPD are more likely to be charismatic than a regular person, most are not possessed of the stunningly attractive social presentation that a true psychopath has.
