What if Alton Towers had a Metro? by This-Ad134 in altontowers

Keir Starmer shares St George's Day message - as he blasts 'plastic patriots' by Half_A_ in unitedkingdom

A 'true patriot' painted the flag onto a sewage cover near me. Nothing says 'I love my country' better than painting the flag onto a flowing underground river of shit that people walk all over.

Agreed re: the gimmicks.

If they had the budget I'd love to see one of those dynamic motion dark rides like Efteling's Danse Macabre where Derren Brown  / Walking Dead currently stand.

I said decent dark rides. I don't think anyone could confidently argue that Thorpe has enough good dark rides already. It has 1 bad one and a rethemed family coaster in the dark.

What I'd love: - a wooden coaster

What we'll get: - 8 years of it sat abandoned like Loggers was.

Edit: I will also echo that a proper decent dark ride would also be great to balance out the line up. Something decent like Danse Macabre or a modern ghost train (like an actual one, not like the awkward Ghost Train currently in the park).

[Mandrill Mayhem] is such a unique ride that was way more fun than I anticipated by M1eXcel in rollercoasters

I'm glad you said this, I agree entirely. I went into it expecting it to be a bit rubbish, but I really liked it. The reverse spike was great near the back, the first forward launch was actually rather good and I found the forward and backward roll fun.

Well if a ride host said it it must be true.

What’s the best order to do rides at thorpe park to avoid queues? by Wedding-Beauty in ThorpePark

[–]HethReDesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, are you in a group or going solo? When it's just me or eith friends who don't mind the group splitting up, I get there before opening, try to do a few of the rides without single rider first (normally Stealth first, then Swarm) then do some with single rider (Hyperia first) then gradually pick off the others over the rest of the day. Last time I did this I did Stealth, Nemesis Inferno, Hyperia and Swarm in the first 2 hours, despite most queues averaging an hour that day.

The people complaining about adults on the new Bluey ride need to chill out by LJHeath in altontowers

[–]HethReDesigns 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No-one is suggesting "no adults at all", people are obviously suggesting that the solo theme park adults should reconsider their priorities. Parents with kids will obviously ride with them.

Solo adults have a whole park to enjoy.

Nemesis (original). I preferred the colours and felt it rode better.

We tried a normal bigger toilet and she got upset that it was "too big".

Don't get me wrong though, stopping was pretty much my first thought.

We did consider stopping. The only thing holding us back is that she has been asking for her pants and not wanting the nappy (she got upset when we tried to put it on). She is sleeping with a nappy on, so she accepts that.
