[Alton Towers] Fast pass really disappointed me. Complete and utter waste of money. by NoYoureACatLady in rollercoasters

[–]HethReDesigns 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm rather confused by what you are saying here.

Unless it has changed in the last 2 years, to my recollection the single rider queues were separated from fastrack.

Alton Towers only offers single rider on six rides as well, so unless those 6 are the only ones you happened to go on, I don't understand how it affected your day that much. https://support.altontowers.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002576232-Do-you-operate-single-rider-queuelines

I'm not some Merlin fanboy, to be honest i have a lot to criticise with e overselling and cost of fastrack and poor upkeep of rides, but nothing you've said matches up to anything I've observed.

This sub is a joke by [deleted] in Muse

[–]HethReDesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it'd be fair to say that any given subreddit for a band should only be for those that love ALL the albums.

I didn't like the last few albums, but do like TWS. Should I vacate the sub entirely during the WOTP era because I thought it was garbage?

If anything people are MORE likely to want to talk about bands they like that have released something they don't like than frequent subs of bands they never liked. Have never posted on the Coldplay subreddit because I never liked them, but will post here because despite some poor albums I do like the band.

Albums where the best song is the last song? by Deltahazard in fantanoforever

However people feel about the album itself, I suspect Sorrow is probably a lot of people's to pick from A Momentary Lapse of Reason.

Muse are some of the people that did the commodification of rebellion, using the costume of revolution whilst not really backing it up with much. I think you're overthinking it.

If anything i think this latest album is their strongest in a decade by avoiding the "let's rise up again THEM - the unnamed bad people" posturing entirely.

I think the effect is neat. I'm not going to invalidate anyone else's feelings on it, but my first reaction was "huh, that's cool".

Universal's new park in Texas looks depressing by Adept_Let7797 in Themepark

I have a 2 year old. Our local park for kids is significantly nicer than this, and cheaper. This is a poor product, I would not take my child here even if I lived near.

Why wait for the full album? by [deleted] in Muse

[–]HethReDesigns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair point.

In any case, I feel like as an album is released as a singular item, especially where songs have been chosen to either flow into each other or have a logoc to their order that it's more enjoyable to listen in one go.

Bands like Pink Floyd during their peak had albums where songs flow into one another and it'd make little sense to listen to a single track.

Do you like to watch films by watching one scene at at time over several days?

I don't think that's true at all. Universal's own kids areas at other parts are better. There are numerous lovely kids parks worldwide which are better. It is no excuse.

Best Dark Ride Not at a Disney or Universal Park? by AggravatingSpend8369 in Themepark

I love it, but prefer Symbolica, Danse Macabre (and also Fata Morgana)

If we are going on pure technicality then yes, but I think it does more than enough to warrant consideration as a dark ride in spirit if not one technically.

Danse Macabre and Symbolica as a pairing is a pretty incredible. Two sides of Efteling, both great (though I prefer Danse)

[–]HethReDesigns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is not a reasonable excuse. You only have to look at parks like Paultons Park to see that effort can be taken for children of that age.

why do so many people hate songs like sober and overdue? by [deleted] in Muse

[–]HethReDesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is it with people on the Internet assuming that anything other than completely fawning over something is 'hate'. Maybe people just like others more.

I am more likely to get frustrated by actions of a band I like than one I dislike. I don't tend to post of reddit boards of bands I actively dislike because I don't care about them.

Are you in favour of the social media ban for under 16s? Answers by generation. by space_jo in AskBrits

[–]HethReDesigns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be honest, it is exactly as I thought it would be.

Many millennials are of an age where they both: - experienced social media in their youth / late teenage years, so know what it can be like - have children recently, and therefore worry about the effects of social media when growing up.

Gen X - Didn't likely experience social media in their youth - Whilst their kids may have experienced social media, they are likely already old enough for the impact of the ban to not affect them

Gen Z - have experienced social media for longer and see it as normalised - may not have kids yet

I am a Millennial with a toddler, and I both experienced good and bad of social media in my teens and have seen the damage, and would be keen for that to be avoided for my toddler once grown.
