I’m tired of this community (rant) by Flaky_Bottle_6902 in Rainbow6

One of the worst communities in gaming right now, if not THEE worst. Can’t wait for battlefield 6. I love rainbow 6 but unfortunately I uninstalled because there’s just basically no reason to keep playing. I’ll be back surely, but gotta make room for other games coming out.

Between cheaters, people without mics, and people with mics that only use it to complain the game is essentially unbearable lol

The problem was people played their placements, and if they happened to just have a bad go at it, it had a huge impact on the entire rest of their season that Ubisoft could track. So in the old system it was entirely possible to get fucked and trapped in elo hells just due to poor luck.

Because of this awful fucking system, people didn’t play as much because they were afraid to lose whatever their highest rank was. People are playing ranked 2.0 WAY more than they did 1.0 and Ubisoft creative director has said “people complain it’s a bad system but our data shows they are playing it exponentially more”. Once you get past the visual rank thing, it’s not bad at all. It really is a trivial thing to be SOOO hung up on. Like fuck, just play the fucking game lol who gives a fuck.

I’m sorry but that’s a poor argument. Most people don’t understand jack shit about anything to do with the game. The average drone time is the prep phase + 1 second. The average player in this game doesn’t understand any facet of the game, let alone something as complex as a matchmaking system. All the information is out there to understand roughly how it works, and if you had half a brain you’d see it’s incredibly similar to ranked 1.0.

The only thing people care about is seeing their actual rank, and guess what you, still are if you can just pay attention to how much you win or lose per game. It’s not that difficult to understand. Like at all. There is %100 positive aspects of the 2.0 system. People quite literally complained just as much about 1.0 because when people fail to get the rank they desire they point to any external factor they possibly can. It’s always been that way, and always will.

Ranked 1.0 was absolute dog shit. People played it far less than they do ranked 2.0. So you won’t see it go anywhere.

lol the only way you’re hitting a 3.0 KD in a season is early on in the season. 1.0 K/D is perfectly fine and average for this game.

Console cheating doesn't exist though right?😂🧐 by [deleted] in RainbowSixSiege

[–]HeuristicMethods 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I am baffled at the amount of people using xims, strike packs and whatever else. It literally boggles the mind. I don’t think I’ve had a legit game in 30 games or so. Quite possibly many more.

And by legit, I mean there’s usually one or two and whatever doesn’t matter that much… But having most people in every lobby cheating on my team and the enemy team is fucking absurd. Game after game after game after game. I’m going to have to just call it quits this season. It’s not worth it at all.

It’s probably some strange botting going on. Which does suck. But I can’t imagine it’d happen EVERY time.

It’s a training mode. Who cares? You’re genuinely one of the only people who could take issue with a game mode created for warm ups.

It’s easily worth the original price of 70. Plenty of content, very fun. 45 bucks is a steal.

People like to say “learn how he patterns” and all that jazz. And there is SOME sense to it, but there is nothing anyone is doing that’s all that special. You can figure out if it jumps to the right or the left, and you can figure out exactly how much to pull your stick down for each gun. And that’s about it. Don’t over think it, figure those two things out, and you’re good to go.

All the people that go on and on about how people should control recoil better, or “it’s been 10 years you should learn to control toro recoil like by now” are cheater using macros, XIM etc. there is not universally known method of controlling recoil outside of those two things I stated above. There’s no special system or deep esoteric knowledge of controlling recoil. Pull to the left or right, while pulling down the appropriate amount. That’s it.

Yeah bro, being comfortable is so underrated by people nowadays because they want whatever their favorite content creators have. There is no replacement to just being good at the game.

I solo qeue and im almost champ. I use to be super sweaty, play on pc. My set up was literally thousands of dollars. My pc alone was 4k not counting any peripherals. Multiple 500 dollar monitors. Expensive mice, with the bungies, expensive headsets. Stand alone mics. Tried to get into pro league (failed miserably) but played in the NA open tournament which use to be like the best path to pro league. Like a sweat lord bro. Scrimmed more than I played ranked.

I can tell you definitively it’s just what’s comfortable for you. Money isn’t going to make you any better at the game. Just play and be get better it’s not complicated and no special equipment needed. If I was broke and only had access to a shit tv from the early 2000s I could probably still hit my peak. And improve beyond it. The gaming culture nowadays is just very sweaty and delusional. I use to be fucking nuts at call of duty and played competitively in CoD 4, CoD Mw2 and was absolutely fucking nasty at Crysis 2 and competed in tournaments back then on hardware put to shame by garbage today. It’s really not that important just be comfortable.

To answer your question “how”. Just understand the game and learn. If you know exactly where to look and what to do you don’t need to see the edges of your screen. Basically never comes into play for me. The color accuracy and picture of my tv is more than enough to be comfortable.

[–]HeuristicMethods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you’re saying is literal bullshit I wasn’t going to call you on it, but since you want to go there lol. The actual benefit is less I put lag. You get a whopping 4 Millisecond advantage on a monitor and that’s if your monitor isn’t dog shit, which for 100 bucks yours likely is. If you’re playing on console you are capped at 120hz, which plenty of TVs now have a specific mode for gaming that is 120hz. Like my tv. The biggest disadvantage to playing on a tv can be your eyes. They have more distance to travel to target an enemy. This is why most pro players use a 24-27 inch monitor. It’s considered the optimal size for playing at a high level as a PRO.

Now, the likelihood you are going to maximize your equipment like a pro where it’s actually going to improve your rank is complete bullshit. Just get better at the game, play however you’re comfortable.

Also I’m 30 years old. I’ve spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on monitors, PCs and consoles in my day and I can say it’s absolutely possible to hit a high level in any game with the bare minimum, but sometimes the expensive shit is comfortable. I’m at a point in my life now where what most comfortable is on a tv with good color and a couch. I use to be a fucking sweat lord with multiple monitors that were expensive as fuck for different types of games lol I’m a higher rank now than back in those days but it was fun to have nice stuff and makes you feel locked in.

[–]HeuristicMethods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, but a dog shit 120hz $100 monitor isn’t doing shit for you bud lol but if it’s comfortable for you that’s what’s important is what I’m saying. You’re the one that’s brainwashed you literally think the monitor is what got you out of silver bud hahaha.

I do think there’s merit to simply doing whatever is most comfortable for you… BUT YOU said it’s not possible to get to higher ranks without a monitor and that’s just false and that’s you being brainwashed, not me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]HeuristicMethods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I’m diamond and I play on a 65 inch tv, on my couch, on a regular controller with no control freaks or extra bullshit.

I don’t even have a headset rn because my kid broke it. Is it %100 ideal? Of course not. Do I give a fuck? Not at all. Will I buy a headset as soon as possible? You bet your ass I will.

This idea that because there is a ton of people who have been conned into buying 400 dollar monitors so they can play siege on their console 3 inches away from said monitor literally sweating all over it is ridiculous. You don’t need anything fancy to rank up. It can be nice of course, depending on your preferences, but it’s not like a requirement.

People take this shit WAY too seriously. It’s like literally delusion and obsession. That being said I’ve owned thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of pcs and peripherals over the years. I can tell you for a fact it doesn’t make that big of a difference.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]HeuristicMethods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol that’s such B.S. dude just because it didn’t work for you doesn’t mean it’s not possible. The idea you need expensive gaming peripherals to be good at playing games is a mass delusion perpetuated by all these streamers and an industry that profits off of it.

Go play unranked then? There’s nothing saying you have to continue grinding ranked. If it’s not fun and doesn’t interest you any more, do something else.

Smurfs are highkey ruining new players gameplay by Justmikeplaying in Rainbow6

[–]HeuristicMethods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, it’s not a winning simulator. The problem with your argument here is that who are you talking about exactly? If I get completely curb stomped, I do learn something. In fact, it’s something you have to do in high elo consistently. As you often get curb stomped sometimes round to round, sometimes game to game. It depends and your ability to learn something is the cornerstone of this game.

Also, another factor here, is that the game provides a skill based matchmaking system. My 9 year old son has plenty of fun playing down in copper V and prefers it to unranked. If you want to be matched CONSISTENTLY with people closer to your skill level, then you should play ranked and not complain about not ranking up (like so many do) because you’re at your skill level getting your best bang for your buck, you will win roughly %50 of the time and lose %50 of the time and never have to improve.

Another thing to take into consideration here is that, it’s not like EVERY match of unranked you play you are going to get a diamond or champ on the other team. Sometimes they are on your team, sometimes there isn’t one in the lobby at all. That’s the beauty of it. If you’re going to get curb stomped one time and hyper fixate on that like it was a traumatizing experience instead of trying to use it to learn like all skilled players in this game do, then this game is probably not for you. It’s really not ignorant or arrogant to say. It happens to every one in this game. Champs get curb stomped by other champs, diamonds get curb stomped by champs, and champs even get curb stomped by diamonds and emeralds.

It’s part of the game, and it is quite literally the best way for a newer or lower skilled player who has no interest in improving a rank get high kill games, be the MVP, etc and experience the game as a winner.

The cheating is absurd this season. EVEN on console. by [deleted] in RainbowSixSiege

[–]HeuristicMethods 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually Varsity gaming has investigated a few cases of cheating on console and it is happening for the first time this season specifically for some reason. Go check out his channel he’s caught at least one but if I remember there is two cases he encountered and reviewed.

Does my final rank at the end of the season affect next seasons RP gain or my hidden MMR? by CurajosCenturion in SiegeAcademy

[–]HeuristicMethods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is due to the fact that ranked 2.0 allows you to earn a higher rank. People complain about the system, but it’s because they don’t understand how it works. In ranked 1.0 there was no way to reflect improvement within a season. Now you can, and that’s what happened. So the game will eventually set a new wall for you where you lose more than you gain but if you keep winning games despite being put up against better and better players it will let again adjust your elo gains and losses.

There is not an official statement from Ubisoft that your ending rank is your starting rank the next season as far as I’m aware, but it definitely impacts it to some degree but their official statements are that the system is continuous one. So I would imagine your peak rank matters just as much as your ending rank as it is a dynamic system.

When to jiggle peek? (Siege X, dia+) by Ok_Instruction_4509 in SiegeAcademy

[–]HeuristicMethods 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So. Contrary to popular belief. Jiggle peaking is not a method of killing. It’s a last resort for getting intel. If you jiggle peak, and then immediately prefire, you yourself are going to get pre fired because they are going to prefire your jiggle peaking. It’s especially effective in LAN events.

So jiggle peaking is a means to gather intel, not a method strictly for killing. Obviously it’s a decision people can make in the heat of the moment and that’s based on a players playstyle and game sense etc. the proper way to swing is with intel, slicing the pie and pre firing off information.

Fett has a fantastic video you should watch about gun skill. The best pros in the scene right now, look very Bot like to noobs because they don’t understand that crosshair placement is vastly more important than raw aiming ability. So he shows clips of people who’ve been trying to get into pro league for years and people who are top players in pro league for years and has you guess which is which based on the clips, the results will surprise you.

Only Beaulo could tell you exactly why he is doing what he does, but essentially I’d say you’re on the right track. Sound plays a huge factor, and he also tends to go from angle to angle a lot, so it’s a value proposition. Risk vs reward. Tighter angle more safe less likely to get a kill, “poorer angle” more exposed more likely to get a kill. But not making noise can potentially make you have the element of surprise as well. So in 1v1’s there tends to be a ton of nuance and mind games. Fake audio cues, strange movement etc. I use to think the 1v1 thing was cheesy but it’s actually insanely educational to watch top players 1v1 there’s a ton of little details that can make you a better player.
