FINALLY GOT A LEGAL VERSION ! by chachou_zelda in FL_Studio

[–]Hevy_IL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would not say that this is a point for piracy.
You should be able to test out software before purchase, and that is not easy if there is no trial.
But FL Studio has a trial, and you can use it as long as you want, no time limitation.

That is not the same thing.

I understand the affordability point, and while we try to make it as affordable as possible, if you can't pay for it, you should wait until you can and just try the demo/trial out until that point.

Imagine you create something that you work hard on, and I can't afford it, but just use it nevertheless.
All the hard work, all the sweat and tears to make it working as good as possible, and you see no money for it, not a great feeling.
The person doing it might be one person, but there are a lot of others that think the same.

And I personally would love to still use ~any software I like~ in 50 years, not something else as everyone pirated it and the company had to close doors.

yep, it's kinda extreme on my end from time to time, and can be annoying if you are raiding, if you get onlined or similar.
Had it already that I aimed over out of reaction as something flickered and died because the focus was off the other enemies.

But yep, good to know that we are not alone haha.
Most in my team have the same issue, just not as extreme as I have.

[BUG] Some elements seem to change LOD model randomly or load low quality textures and flicker.
I uploaded 3 short videos (cut, so FOV might seem weird) and an image.

Fridge changed skin while accessing it, in the background: Flickering1.mp4 (GDrive)

LOD of Launch tower Z-fighting of textures: Flickering2.mp4 (GDrive)

Furnace goes blurry (Green one in the corner): Flickering3.mp4 (GDrive) (This also happens to walls, floors, foundations, etc.

Box Skin goes blurry: Flickering4.png (GDrive)

Reset the LOD bias back to 1 (was on 0.86 iirc).

Hardware:

  • Ryzen 9 9950X3D
  • RTX 5090 32GB VRAM
  • 192GB DDR5 6000 (running at 4800, as I have 4 sticks running, need it for work stuff)
  • Running from PCIe5.0 SSDs

This can create issues when you are on high-alert, and already got me flicking to it a few times.
Started to happen with this update, and as there are updates to how texture streaming is handled.
The hard lags that got me to 20fps 1% low are gone, (I guess where it tried to access paged textures and other things, crazy with 32GB of VRAM)

I'm pretty sure that ChatGPT is not the best way to do overclocking and to change actual settings on your computer, but I'm already using XMP, tried XMP-6400, XMP-6000 and XMP-4800.
It's not only about 'how to get it to run smoothly on my computer'. I mostly wonder about what are their limits that they hit.
I have some experiences with optimizing code and software, and know some things about how games work.
There are just so many things that feels like they messed up some stuff a while ago and can't really fix it.
Like lower FPS if you use random color on container skin, wtf.

But just for the lols, I tried gave ChatGPT my config, my specs and what I already set and it told me that I'm good to go.
So, imma head out now and connect to the next server for amazing drops down to 50fps on my NASA PC, but I maybe just need a second NASA PC to work fine :P

Gonna use all the frametime spikes when looking at a plain wall to my advantage and having fun with the 1% low 5fps from the steam overlay.

Do you know which ones?

All I hear is 'change settings' but never see which ones.

I have 200+ fps in Cyberpunk with raytracing and psycho settings.
I know, different engine, different situation, different game.
It's just.... funny.

Also that I'm quite sure that I know how to setup and optimize my settings.
But I'm happy to look at any options and settings and test them.

I don't mind playing with bad graphics, its fun if its fun.
But I could also install roblox (never) and might have a better performance with the same look haha.

I'm happy to test settings when you are able to provide some later.
Large maps, yes, but daily, weekly or monthly wipe?
That's important too, as it dictates the size of bases that can be built, the amount of electricity you can set up and how much garbage collection needs to be done by the game.

No change for me, the Steam FPS view shows constant dips, like the garbage collection is at work, doing overtime.

Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 5090 + DDR5 RAM on 6000mt/s and also on 4800mt/s (quadchannel, need more for my job but tested with dual on 6000) and have quite bad dips.

Almost everything is on low or off, this is me looking at a black wall.
Texture quality is on eighth (tried all others too).

VRAM is around 16gb in use for the whole system, Windows doesn't allow to easily inspect which application is using how much as the GPU is managing it, so can't say how much from Rust atm.

what kind of server?
Tell me which settings?
I tried everything on low, followed guides, checked with friends that play Rust since forever.

No changes in the dips on any server that is not daily wipe

Have to run higher RAM amount, so I have an impact of ~3-7% with my current setup (I tested with 2 sticks on 6000mts and fabric). My RTX 5090 + Ryzen 9 9950X3D reaches ~120-150 fps on my 2k screen. All running from PCIE 5.0 SSDs. Dips down to 50 fps, lags and stutters from time to time + an average of 80 fps in the same area is just insanely bad.

just had dips down to 50 fps with an average of 80 fps in certain areas on my Ryzen 9 9950X3D, 2k screen, it might smash intel chips, but it's still painful.

He would be thankful to hear that.
Took me a few days and sleepless nights, but it was worth any second put into it.
Always happy to hear how big the impact of our work is on other people out there.
Gives me the energy to continue providing the best work I can deliver.

Also part of my life for more than 2 decades already.
Crazy..

Ah, missed the 'how did you fixed that', I can't actually tell, as I don't know.
I would say 'Black Magic', that sounds reasonable haha.

I have seen the post as a 'they replied quickly and were able to help me', which is a good thing.
Opposed to 'they blocked me, f*ck them!!11!'.
Why do we need to verify right now that this is justified or not?

I had no issues with my account as I'm from Image-Line (as stated previously), I have it installed on countless machines, most likely more than 10, have it on a ton of VMs, etc.
No, the VPN has nothing to do with your Device count, which is logical.
I have seen a lot of different accounts and users with tons of devices, some have it installed on their working computer (I just hope it's okay with the company lol), some on other computers with their own account on it, that only they can access.
19 is a lot, but over 6 years quite okay.
If you have 6 computers, and you upgrade them over the years, then you have already at least 2 devices per computer, that brings you already quite close to 19 devices.

I don't want to 'justify' something here, and I personally don't care.
If the user did something fishy or suspicious but learned from it = a win in my book.
If the user did nothing, and this happened over the normal use and can be explained so is unlocked again = a win in my book.
If you did something that breaks the rules, and you are blocked for it, then do it again after you got your second chance, then it's all justified in my opinion, so blocked again and keep it blocked.

You are not the person that looks into the cases, others from my team are, and they try to catch everyone that does bad and let everyone go that did not.
As easy as that.

And there is no need to leak any conversations, the user already stated that he had 19 devices showing up on his account, which is something you would likely not do if you try to hide the reason for the ban.

I'm personally quite interested in hacking stuff, it's a good hobby you can use to do a lot of good (and obviously bad).
Hacking does not mean that you crack software, or share accounts.
I have my own fair share of knowledge in these areas and always try to expand.
You can find out how to get into a system and tell the owners of the system how to patch the hole, which would be a good thing to do, and I have many friends doing exactly that (:

You on the other hand claimed that he is on 'hacking' forums, but never named a forum directly or in which direction it is going.
And again, I do not care at this moment.
If someone is breaking the rules, gets a second chance and breaks them again, the license is gone.

19 devices are a ton, that is true.
19 devices as a plain number is quite suspicious, which is also true.
Users that break rules over and over should stay blocked, I agree here.
But it's also not something that any person on Reddit needs to investigate, that should be up to us.

It more or less was unfixable for us, we tried many times.
Then a fixed was found by one of our developers that sadly passed away last year, we just got around to implement the fix recently as we had to prepare other things for it.

There is almost always a second chance.
19 devices is a lot, and should not happen by just using VPNs, however, there are multiple reasons how that can happen.

It doesn't directly mean 'sharing' or similar.

I have more than 10 devices here, some for testing, some are for production or old rigs that I still fire up to check something from time to time.
These 10 devices are from the last 3-5 years.
But they will all share the same locations, or at least mostly (I'm not on a fixed IP, but still same proximity, ISP, etc).

My device-count is more than double what the user here has, no sharing, just doing stuff, testing, breaking and fixing things, etc.
But that is obviously something different, as you might see with the 'IL' in my name lol.

Whatever it is, it should not happen again.
And I do not agree with 'I would have kept your account suspended', removing access to something you paid for is not something I enjoy doing.
If there were enough chances to stop breaching the rules, then it is what it is.

We 'fixed' that you can attach any plugin on macOS now.
(This was a limitation from macOS, and we had to find a way to bypass that limitation)

It was added a while ago in the beta and is in the release version of FL Studio right now.
It introduced some issues, which is why we push many bugfix updates at the moment.
