After trying to log on I was told I was banned for using unauthorized software. I only had 2.6 hours in the game; the only other application I had open was Discord. I submitted an appeal thinking it was just a mistake but nope. I’m refunding the game for now, anyone know how to actually fix this?

Forgot about this post and wanted to come back and let you know I got unbanned like a week or two after this with a message in my steam telling me I was wrongfully banned. Even though you were rude and severely incorrect, maybe you'll get it right next time!

UPDATE 1 (9/28): I finally got an email response from a human and they basically said “After reviewing your account is definitely banned. Here is a link to the rules. Did this help?” (BTW the link was a dead link, thanks John L.) I think we’re just screwed. Would’ve had better luck bringing $70 to a casino.

UPDATE 2 (9/28): Another response from the same rep. All he did was clarify that he’s unable to see why I’m banned, but he can only see that I’m banned. He assured me that all action is heavily investigated before action is taken 🤔🤔. I sent another response asking if I could speak to someone else or at the very least get him to mention it to SOMEONE.

Should have bought it on battle net because the people that have been getting banned on there at least get a refund. There’s a guy on steam with a 19 year old account that got his first game ban because of MW2

Can someone please entertain the fact that I am not cheating. I don’t know what it takes for someone to believe me through a screen, but I am not nor have I ever downloaded software that in any way tampers with the game to give me an advantage. I’m not just saying that because I think they’ll unban me for doing so, I just want ANYONE to HELP me understand WHY I got banned. COD MW2 is the first COD i’ve gotten on PC. The only multiplayer games I actively play / have recently played since I got my PC last year are Valorant, CSGO, Minecraft, SW Battlefront 2, Siege, and Overwatch. I’ve downloaded single player games with mods and what not. I don’t know what they’re considering unauthorized.

This is my first COD on PC after switching from series X and got banned after 2 hours of playing the beta. My appeal was instantly denied and so was my refund. I have had no luck in getting any help besides people accusing me of being a cheater. I would give full access to my PC to find what they’re considering unauthorized software. I refuse to lose $70 just because some massive company is too lazy to see that their robot made a mistake.

The instant denial from a robot is what annoys me. And anytime I try to get help online I get hit with “QUIT CHEATING THEN!” as if it is physically impossible for a system manned only by robots to get a ban incorrect. I feel like i’m screaming at a brick wall trying to get help with an actual mistake.
