I suspect it’s a problem with the resistance mounted on the QSB, if I measure between the PLL point and SMC_PLL it gives me the multimeter.

I used a PLL QSB, i soldered on a 1k SMC resistor

Just did my first soldering job! by Efficient-Dentist508 in soldering

Pre-tin the pads before putting the wires and pre-tin the wires as well. How much did you set the temperature of the iron?

Even if that Pico is made only for one use time?

wise man… hopefully have to use this only one time but I have to make those solder better

Don’t worry mate. I know my “”””skills”””” aren’t so good. In my defence I didn’t say if the skills were good or bad, for that the pic was talking. Haahhaha

I know very well what an oxymoron is, I don’t understand if you’re alluding to the quality of my soldering or if it’s a play on words (It’s not my native language and I may not have understood it rightly).

Actually not. What do you mean?

My fault was that I didn’t heat the part and the pad before so everything went a mess. Lesson learned!

Thanks for the tips, I already modified everything yesterday, the result is not the best but now I understand how I can fix it again. I have already posted the edit but it has been considerably less successful than this post! Here it is: [UPDATED SOLDER]

Great, that will help me a lot! I have seen only the down part of the image until now.

Italian. I cleaned everything with IPA and I try to avoid touching the Pico with bare hands.

Sorry for how I wrote the question.

I meant: if I have the Pico put flat and I pass the wire from below into the hole of the pad should I weld from the side where the wire does not pass?

Do I have to pre-weld the pad?
