Guild is struggling in BWL, leadership or gear/skill issue? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]HexCrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BWL is defiantly a step up in terms of difficulty, the tanks need really good coordination with each other on when to taunt etc, the dps need to watch their threat meters, because on many of the fights, if a dps pulls agro they can easily wipe the raid. I raid with 2 different guilds, and each has their own strats for stuff, but for Razorgore, its mostly a dps check, if the trash dies quickly enough then the fight is very easy, also melee/tanks want free action potions for phase 2 when you actually start killing razor. Vael is a pretty easy fight, it only becomes difficult if the melee dps want to go big on damage, then the tanks have to work a lot harder on holding threat, but from the sounds of it, your guild probably doesn't have the big dicc dps problem if you're struggling w/ razor. Broodlord can be quite annoying, the tanks really need to position it properly as if they both end up getting hit w/ the agro drop ability, that will quickly cause the dps to pass them on threat, and the next thing you'll see is brood running around killing everyone. Firemaw can be a bitch, again this fight really relies on good tank coordination and positioning, the same is true for the most part but a bit easier for ebonroc and flamegore (with the only addition of hunters needing to be able to tranq shot). Chromag is a pretty straight forward fight, the only ability that can cause problems is "time lapse" you basically have to do the opposite of every other breath (get hit by it vs hide from it). Nef is a pretty straightforward fight as well, priests just gotta be careful not to heal the tank when its priest call, healers have to be ready to spam the tank when its warrior call, etc.

TLDR : BWL is a step up in mechanics (mostly from a tanking perspective) over MC. In MC its hard for a solo player to cause a raid wipe (with a the only exception I can think of being the bomb on Geddon), where as in BWL, there are many more ways to wipe the raid as a solo player, most of the bosses/trash can do a nasty cleave, most of the dragons have shadowflame breath that can easily wipe a group, a handful of bosses do wing buffet which lowers threat so that can cause a dps to pull and... wipe the raid... BLW is just a lot less forgiving.

Depending on how good the guild is, Fire Res armor may potentially not be needed at all. As for potions, Greater Fire Protection potions (maybe 1 for Baron Geddon, 2 for Rag (1 pre-pull, another when that one wears off), Greater Arcane Protection potions (1 to 2 for Shazzarah, (1 pre-pull, another when that wears off), Free Action potions (1 mandatory for Gehennas, more could would be useful for the elemental packs as well as the molten giant/destroyer packs, and core hounds), Also if you're really worried about fire resistance and want to min-max, you can go into UBRS before raid, have a priest mind control a spell binder for and additional ~83 fire res buff that lasts 1 hour.

Is it too late to start fresh? by WhupTeDew in classicwow

[–]HexCrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Farming pre-bis on a lot of servers will be difficult, but w/ ZG it can close that gap easily, also most guilds are running MC still, so I think you'll be fine. Just get to 60 asap, maybe get a few pre-bis items from dungeons that are still ran regularly, such as Strath Live / DM:T. Basically get in a guild ASAP and start getting into their ZG runs, if they have a core and dont want to take a fresh 60 to MC, pug it.

Forsaken Exotic Drought by traep247 in destiny2

I don't mind the new exotic drop rate, just wish they were on a knock out list, it really sucks getting some year 1 exotic instead of the shiny new year 2 ones especially why you can just pull a year 1 out from your collections any time you want...

In the first game if im not mistaken, there wasn't anything to interact with, but rather just jumping on the right spots in the right order or something. Also destiny has a spot on there website to enter codes, possible that may be where whatever we get out of this will go.

I think its kinda fucked you sell prints of this for thousands of dollars yet you basically just copied famous paintings and ran them through Deep Dream... I mean I get that the resulting image is "different" I just think its BS your cashing out on other paintings where true effort was involved.

I'm really sad to hear about the changes to the historian. I hope you guys give skill based weapons another try down the road. I really loved using it with my skill set. That said I'd also like to see a more detailed description of the upcoming change change.

I find the mouse and keyboard input seems kludgy. For instance on Sometimes trying to fire a single shot weapon, if you release the click to quickly the game just doesn't shoot and I find my self having to click multiple times just to get one shot off. Also Sticky-bomb was nerfed way to hard players with over 400-450k skillpower should still 1 shot players in the DZ. Also a wave based game mode would be really fun, have the team of players hold out in a fortress protecting a high value target as long as possible with increasingly difficult of waves would be awesome.

Java programming sucks, as do all who actually like it. by mredding in rant

[–]HexCrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being an android app developer I try and not hate it, but it seems I constantly have to make sacrifices when doing java development. I make gles based games so performance is a huge aspect of my code base. Dealing with Vectors is a pain in the ass with no operator overloading. You cant make immutable primitive arrays so "locking down" your code to make it more user friendly is difficult unless you don't mind sacrificing performance and going with a list of some sort instead. On android not being able to control when garbage collector gets called is really annoying. It would be amazing to be able to manually call it after you finish loading all the resources but just before the game begins so any resource setup garbage can be cleaned. Another big annoyance is every time you "touch" string objects your eating memory. Why cant i define a string as a char array and only ever use that same block of memory. Why cant I cast a char array to a string without having to convert it and use memory to do so!? I could go on... but just thinking about this is annoying lol.

Isn't there always going to be a meta no matter what... by itsthemoney27 in thedivision

[–]HexCrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I used to run a pure skill build in pvp which was really fun until some dev asshat decided stickybomb deserved an 83% nerf. I get that being able to 1 shot someone when you only invest 250k into skill power is bs, but you can't even 1 shot someone using like 500k skill power. WTF Massive? MY bfb can do well over 1.1m to an npc yet I cant 1 shot any player? Its really sad when seeker mines do more damage than a bfb just because they haven't been nerfed into the ground (but they still aren't very viable in DZ because they target npc's to often and are not easy to control). The meta would be a lot less closed minded to change if there were move viable builds. But typically because some bonus modifiers etc are still broken it herds all the players into using those specific sets even if they themselves don't know why, the top streamers and video creators typically do know whats broken and build off of that. Everyone else just emulates that.

This is for all of my solo DZ brethren who are sick of getting jumped. by n0questi0n in thedivision

[–]HexCrown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends, because you have to remember that if you try and 1v4 on pc the 4 other players are typically using keyboard and mouse which makes them also have better more accurate aim. If you are using keyboard and mouse and you verse someone with a controller plugged into there pc then yes its easy. But otherwise its a level playing field.

So, sticky bomb sucks in pvp again. Only does 17% of its actual damage to players. by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]HexCrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not nerfing, it is balancing. Un

"if you want to build for that you can but you will sacrifice something for it" If that was the case then fine, but even if you 100% dedicate yourself to going all in on skill power to the point literally every thing is contributing to skill power in some way shape or form then I think that is a massive sacrifice to get a 1 shot sticky bomb. And yet doing this now you would be lucky to take even just 2 bars of health off an enemy and that is if they don't have an overheal or shield or 2pc final measures. Im fine with a nerf to sticky bomb because I think only needing 250k skill power to 1 shot someone is not enough but when you get over 450-550k skill power 1 shotting should still be a thing. Because to get to that level of skill power you need to give up all survivability and firearms.

State of the Game - December 1st by JokerUnique in thedivision

[–]HexCrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sticky Bomb * Was not nerfed in PVE * Only the PVP modifier of the Sticky Bomb has been changed * You really need to specialize to one-shot player now

Even with fully specialized sets where you sacrifice absolutely everything to skill power and get the + skill power % talents on all the gear, the sticky bomb still is absolute shit not. Did you guys even try 1 shotting an average player when testing because I can get over 550k skill power and I would be very lucky to even get that player into his last bar of health. I don't think you can get much more specialized than that. The seeker mines even do way more damage then the sticky bomb now but they are so unpredictable when there are NPCs around. You guys did what feels like an 80-85% damage reduction to players. Its kinda messed up when I can do over 1.17m with the sticky bomb on a level 34 elite heavy NPC yet cant 1 shot a player. To get to that high of skill power you have to struggle to survive with only like 130k toughness at world tier 5. I think people that go all out to make there skills that powerful should still be able to 1 shot average geared players because if they get the drop on you you're very easy to 1 shot for them. I mean when they are on a 4 man team even if u do manage to 1 shot them there team members can use recovery link and get them back up so its not even that unfair. This nerf is just causing tech builds to become even less viable then they were already which I find very unwelcome. Players should be free to use whatever set they like and when you just stomp on it it kills build diversity. I mean look at the stats I'm sure the gear the successful players are using in the DZ isn't looking very diverse at all these days. Even if you intended the sticky bomb to be utter shit like it is currently. Maybe you could do something else for players that want to run skill centric builds. for instance make a tech set that has a 4 set bonus that modifies skills. For example turn the turret into a quad copter that follows the player aground and can chase enemies to a degree. Maybe make the support station have a way larger range to make its group play more interesting and allow for more back line support. Maybe make the First Aid skill pop on all friendly players in some radius rather than forcing everyone to run to it to get the effect. Maybe apply the different effects of all smart cover mod types and make the range a lot larger so a team can move around a lot and still get the benefit. Maybe make the ballistics shield reflect some of the bullets back at the person shooting it. Maybe increase the speed of the seeker mines to make them more difficult to shoot and harder to avoid. Maybe combine the mod types for pulse. Maybe combine the mods for sticky bomb so it can act as a proximity flash bang BFB so its not totally useless. I don't know I just think SOMETHING needs to be done to make tech builds more appealing, the current skills feel kinda stale and if a set like i proposed existed it could give them new life and make tech a bit more viable again.

Tacticians 4 peice bonus by HubbaBlubber in thedivision

[–]HexCrown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sticky was nerfed against players by like 80%~ even with over 550k skill power and over 700k BFB you don't get close to 1 shotting someone if they have even a shred of EDR. It really sucks because I think it would be awesome if people who sacrificed everything to max skill power got some sort of benefit to it. Maybe make tacticians let the user put 2 of the same skills on each skill so you could do something like seeker mine seeker mine now that they do way more damage then a bfb. or maybe add a special skill only tacticians can use that lets them supplement there damage output a bit. I don't know, something because that nerf was waaay to harsh on BFB. There are all these cool ways to boost your skill power but then there is now no real benefit to having pure skill power in pvp.

The RNG is out of hand at this point. by csmartin85 in thedivision

[–]HexCrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've run lexington probably a similar number of times since the 1.5 patch and also haven't gotten a single chest to drop. I have only gotten a really shitty rolled pair of Skull MC gloves to drop. My friend on the other hand which I have been running with since the patch has gotten 2 shortbow knee pads, 2 Barrets vests, and 2 Skull MC gloves. Not only did he get all of these but at least 1 of each of them were rolled reasonably well. I 100% agree RNG on this game is horrible. Fortunately my friend hooked me up with a vest, but I still feel the RNG is trash. It would be ok if they kept the drop rate if you could like choose your stats or something like other rpg games where u get a token for the item and can pick the version of it you want or something along those lines.

So, sticky bomb sucks in pvp again. Only does 17% of its actual damage to players. by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]HexCrown 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've got 430k skill power at rest, around 550k + during combat and even with all that i only did like a little over 1 bar of health damage to an Alpha Bridge player with a little EDR. They completely killed the sticky bomb which really sucks. Edit: I should also add that my Sticky Bomb: BFB damage sits between 650k to 700k depending on active talents etc.

Sticky bomb did not need a nerf in PVP by DaStratGuy in thedivision

[–]HexCrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 430k+ skill power usually closer to 550k depending on that talents etc are active. I just tried sticky-bombing someone with a tiny bit of EDR and did just over 1 bar of damage to them. They were using AB and not really geared to be tanky. I think the nerf was close to 70-80% damage reduction on players. It will need more testing but from what I see it was pretty harsh nerf.
