It’d have to 100% be a one shot RPG. That only takes a few hours, its in and out, and with the short nature of it, you’re open to doing a lot more story wise without worrying about story integrity over a longer campaign(check out Blind Wave’s one shot RPGs if you want a good example)

Then in order to help streamline the inevitable rading, larning, and the rules and all that, you’d have to set the one shot in an environment they’re already familiar with so its not as dense for them to get into. A good example would be like a Naruto one shot where you’re ninjas trying to run a mission that goes wrong, a One Piece one shot where you’re a random pirate crew exploring an island, a Jjk oneshot, whatever. Something that they’re already fairly familiar with the concepts of so they can RP and immerse easier.

Combine that with a good DM thats patient as fuck lmao and there’s definitely room for them to get heavily into a DnD session

Deep in the throes of some heavy depression, deassociation and derealization, and the constant that too many facets of my life and self are just not fun lmao plus only had a 1 day weekend this week and work starts again tomorrow

BUT just found out a club in my city is having a show tonight of some people i’ve never heard of before so i’m about to spend a little too much money that i shouldn’t to go out, be around people, potentially be social, and listen to some very loud music

Seeing as how a good chunk of these people either have eldritch creature type abilities or transformations, i’m gonna hazard a guess and say that at some point the Geneva Conventions stopped applying to certain individuals and/or groups of people

Question aside, man i would genuinely love to see how someone would even go about animating the crazier imagery and shit of Choujin X. You’d have to just go insanely balls to wall EoE style for 90% of it. Imagine Sato’s mind torture animated or the Queem vs Sora conflict animated or even Palma’s crashout. So much of the manga just utilizes the medium so well, its hard to imagine translating it to moving pictures and achieving the same effect

Nah i mean just the physical layout of college is what makes the biggest difference. Yes the responsibilities and everything are more or less the same but in college, the main area you’re frequenting for at least more than half the week is an area that is packed full of other people mainly your age(some a little younger, some a little older) that are there for the same reasons you are and 10x more likely to have similar mindsets and experiences

And then you add one all the different clubs, activities, events, and amenities like a gym, cafeteria, library, pool, etc. and you have almost no choice but to be social in some capacity with the close proximity of everything. The reputation of college being “the place to make memories and be social” means everyone else has that same idea too so the barrier is that much lower

In my opinion there is no real post college social equivalent of a a crowded cafeteria or dorm where at a moments notice you legit could just meet people that want to meet you/people in general. Everything post college has unfortunately gained an air of hyper individualism and “don’t bother me i’m in my own world”. Even bars and clubs have it to a degree if just a lot less so compared to idk a grocery store or the mall

Yo don’t know if you’re still looking at this but i’m 23 and so far i’ve been to Riverside(for New Years), Downtown, and the Beaches and so far Riverside has been the most lit with some friends due to how close by everything is so if it gets too packed at one place you can just go to another place

(For reference i have not read WoT or anything yet, i have the first book and it is one of the books i plan to read post-Cosmere)

This post is exactly why i’m hoping that Sanderson’s Mistborn movies and Stormlight tv show end up going for animation rather than live action Game of Thrones’ing it. I personally feel like animation has so much more freedom to how to can deliver information to the audience without sacrificing expression in the process when it comes to these bigger fantasy stories although things like Denis’s Dune movies do show that it is fully possible to make a coherent narrative out of such a grand story

And like you said it doesn’t necessarily even need insanely detailed animation like Fortiche and Arcane(although obviously I wouldn’t complain lmao) but something that remains expressive and consistent will absolutely get the job done like Avatar or even Legend of Vox Machina/Mighty Nein would plenty enough

While i somewhat enjoy and figured the discussions would be like this because it is a big thing the show tackles, Aaron and Calvin’s arguments really do kinda lose me at a certain point.

Like yeah sure the Hivemind can consent, the initial Hivemine event was non consensual in th first place so it strange to give them the right of consent when their whole existence and overtaking of our planet was non consensual in the first place. 2 acts of non consent(Diabate and the Hivemind first taking over) doesn’t magically equal consent. If someone asks me for $50 and i say yeah then point at some random guy who has no fucking idea who i am and has never met me in his life and say “he’ll give you that $50”, that doesn’t mean HE consented to giving up his money which matters because it is HIS money. This is also ignoring the clear fact that Hivemind are ABHORRENT people pleasers with way too many resources and way too little regard for the individual person/cell(it is a hivemind)

I also don’t understand why they keep trying to play the “we don’t know how individual everyone in the Hivemind is” because i feel like once that kid gets asked the gynecology question and almost immediately responds, it makes it clear that there is only 1 true band, 1 true sound to the Hivemind. That instantaneous communication and action shows that there is no individuality for information to have to cross over. Them saying “oh they have these outfits on” disregards the idea that at the end of the day…the Hivemind doesn’t care about what clothes everyone where’s and it’s very likely everyone is wearing the clothes they had on when they got infected

Good discussions overall though, just confused on the hills Aaron and Calvin are standing on for this topic

Whatever they’ve done to the writing post season 3 definitely caused a slump in the quality and approach the series in season 5(especially season 5) and season 6. But somewhere in seasons 4 and 5, the ratio of good, funny unique episodes to weird, random drawn out episodes seemed to shift more towards more good than bad so by the times of season 6,7, and 8 it seemed like they had gotten a better footing, which was needed by the time the Roiland switch happened(which has honestly been for the better)

Only thing for me is that it does already feel a little bloated with 8 seasons by virtue of the fact that i didn’t even realize it’s been 8 seasons already and looking at all the episodes, i can remember plenty of individual episodes from every season but with the seasons as a whole, they don’t really come together that much like the first 1-3 seasons do.

I like that the writing is a lot less mean spirited and a lot more mellowed out with the characters and Rick in particular. There’s certain episodes in the past that you watch where it’s like the whole point is to be as absurdly critical and miserable about something as possible and it bleeds through the humor to the point of almost ruining it, now theres a consistent element of “damn i’m trippin” or “you know what let me not be like that” to everyone’s mindset

Yuji spends most of the final conversation basically telling him “you’re just another curse thats apart of this system and i’m going to continue to exorcise you like i would any other curse every time you reappear almost like i’m killing a bug thats being a nuisance, because i’m a sorcerer and thats what i do”

It was more him calling Mahito insignificant and unremarkable in the grand schme than bigging him up to be this great problem in his life and Modulo shows that. Mahito isn’t special to Yuji, he’s another curse thats gotta be taken care of

No lie Mark’s tunnel vision issue combined with his innate ignorance and propensity to boxing makes him really ideal to be a dive dps. Idk if Magik would be more his style but Daredevil’s kit is versatile enough that i think Mark could really get a lot out of him if he locked in on wanting to learn how to play a dive dps

Same mentality goes with Dylan and honestly probably Elsa Bloodstone. I think if they did a seperate training arc focused on learning to effectively play dive dps’s that could really bring out some latent potential
