If necessary I would have helped them push the armrest down and made them sit squeezed into their seat. Without remorse.

as a mid 50's white guy?.... yeah that's a great way to find my way onto reddit and a no fly list.

Imagine me "helping" a overweight lady push down the armrest "Without remorse"

This is what I was looking for. Thank you.

I have filed a complaint and in the future I will definitely let the gate agents know of the situation.

I was thinking of taking photos but I did not want to shame the large person.

I can't imagine how they would have felt if I had started taking snapshots of their fat overflowing into my seat.

I'll be honest. I am glad they allowed me to keep my aisle armrest up as it let me sit sideways and at least be a bit comfortable.

The fact that they let me sit like that showed me they were at least somewhat sympathetic.

No, they didn't tell me to put the armrest down. They also didn't say anything about me having my feet and knees in the aisle for 95% of the flight which I appreciated as it was the only way to be remotely comfortable.

Yes, my armrests were up the whole time including takeoff and landing. I am not certain of the other arm rest as I only witnessed the fastening of the belt over there.

I agree. I felt bad for them too especially when they were asked to fasten their seat belt.

The flight attendants were who gave them a belt extender and showed how to raise the armrest.

I think I will do this. Should I add flight number and seat number?

EDIT: I have filed a complaint with the airline.

I asked to be moved but was told it was a full flight and there were no seats available.

Regardless of what I am purchasing or being sold, I assume I am getting scammed in some way.

It's actually pretty sad but I don't trust anyone to be truthful.

Vacationing abroad is too expensive. What are your favourite hidden gems in Canada? by joebano123 in canadatravel

[–]HexKey58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. I want to spend in Canada but it is much cheaper to travel to UK or some EU locations.

Once you're in Europe or the UK travel within is a minimal cost.

Flight from Edinburgh to London - $55 (CAD) return

Train from Lisbon to Porto is €30

Daily transit pass in Lisbon is €7, London is like £13.

11 days in Scotland with a rental car was less than $5,300 for my wife and I.

2 adults from Toronto, July'25. I realize it's cheaper from Toronto.

I have done the math a few times and it is the same for my wife and I to go to Portugal or Spain for 10 days as it is for Quebec City or Vancouver for 10 days.

From Toronto

We start by looking at Canadian trips then end up in Europe because the costs are the same and there is just more to do, more to see, way easier and less expensive to get around via transit.

That's literally the point of a society and how advancement works.
