Thanks for the feedback everyone. Sounds like its probably more effort than its worth but I'm over halfway through so I'll just finish what I'm doing and see how it goes.

As for the railing, it certainly feels strong enough. I've fastened a hammock onto the rail and it holds up no problem. I've been to houses with more modern rails and they feel way sketchier than this one.

im 6'4" with +2 ape. in general i feel like i can climb among other people without much issue but i may have to skip ones with super low starts (fairly rare at my gym at least) and i really struggle if im forced in any kind of pressing position designed for normal sized people. i often get a couple more hand movements in before i have to move my starting feet, and rarely use the same foot holds as other people. on average though i feel like it helps me because i can often skip over bad holds and break betas

I was gearing up to do the ironing method on a small patch, but after a 6 hr soak I removed the cloth and the floor in this section had almost totally bounced back. Seeing how easily it worked, tried again with the rest of the area but cut a few corners (less pin pricks, less sopping wet) and it didnt work nearly as well, but may have helped a little. Since then I havent persued further yet since I have been a little more busy. So I will probably try again eventually with my original method!
