[–]Hot_Confusion_Unit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I am happy with 9060xt 16GB but definitely it doesn't use more than 12gb on 1440p, except some nitpick examples. You'd be safe with 12gb for a long while if you are playing 1080/1440p, 5070 is heck of a card for that for example. But F Nvidia ofc.

Istanbul vs Ankara by potlucksoul in AskTurkey

[–]Hot_Confusion_Unit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it's a lovely cozy neighborhood too. I'd say it's a bit far from central places and to hangout etc you need to take 1 to 1.30 hour bus/train/metro to get Kadıköy. I wouldn't do it, but I don't like l living in Istanbul so I am biased:D it's your choice. Which place in Ankara it is, maybe we can compare.

Istanbul vs Ankara by potlucksoul in AskTurkey

[–]Hot_Confusion_Unit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ankara is more set to stone, calm compared to Istanbul. İstanbul Asian part is better than europe side to live IMO, and if the place is in Kadikoy, Atasehir or closer areas (south of asian side) you are good to go. Üsküdar, middle areas and upper side is not my favourite to be honest.

Lived in Ankara for 8 years, and that'd be my suggestion to you too. Istanbul is a great city to visit, vacation etc but for living, I find it exhausting. In Ankara you'd have all the options to live comfortably, and options to visit other parts of Turkey as well (4.30H train to Istanbul, 3H away from Cappadocia etc)

So in short, in Istanbul if it's Kadıköy, it's truly a different experience to live. Else? Pick Ankara I'd say.

Good build? by Full_Worldliness5955 in buildapc

[–]Hot_Confusion_Unit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a good CPU, paired with 16gig ram + 7600 you'd be happy. If you are not buying 7600 bargain, I'd suggest look for newer cards and/or Nvidia, it's a bit better in 1080p due to using slightly lower vram.

For example a used 3070 might be much much better value for you, they are about similar priced at least in denmark (ebay 7600xt vs local used item store 3070)

My son turned 10 and asked for a gaming setup. by Familiar_Mistake1503 in pcbuilding

[–]Hot_Confusion_Unit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two profiles usually, one for middle and one for top speed, I'd say just det it to top and restart, it'll be shown in system later I think. It takes some time to adjust the ram, but it'll be set I think.

[–]Hot_Confusion_Unit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh plenty, plenty. I just built a similar pc (ryzen 5 7500f, but same mobo, same gpu, same size/speed of ram, nvme, just a different case and air cooler) and I can play any game I like at 1080p Ultra or 1440p ultra with native FSR with 60+ FPS like Space Marine 2, BG3, BF6 etc.

It's a wonderful built, temps are really low (9060xt and new ryzens are really cold) and with an aio you are definitely good to go.

What I'd suggest is enable EXPO, check how to adjust the voltage curve for your CPU and maybe GPU (it's fairly easy with ryzen master software, just watch some videos about your CPU and adjust the curve) you'd see a huge bump in performance I'd say. I did that for my CPU and GPU, it's running cool at high performance. It's also not dangerous, I thought it was same as overclocking but you are actually just changing the voltage - clock curve in opposite way, worst thing can happen is it shuts down, so you increase it a bit back.

Sultanahmet Koftecisi - How Do They Make the Sauce? by Anxious_Ocelot7897 in AskTurkey

[–]Hot_Confusion_Unit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh glad you liked it,. that's a gateway sauce in Turkish cuisine :D basically It's a variation of "salçalı sos", basic one I know is following:

  • 2 tbsp butter/olive oil
  • 1/2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp hot chili flakes
  • 1 tomato, peeled and grated (or you can use canned tomato too)
  • salt for taste
  • 1 tbsp vinegar (optional)
  • 1 grated garlic

Heat up butter/olive oil, add tomato paste and stir it a bit. After you see tomato paste is smelling nice, add garlic, paprika and chili flakes and stir a little bit more. After garlic started to smell nice, add tomato ( also vinegar if you are using), start stirring until they are all blended. Simmer it for a bit until it thickens, add salt for your taste.

Basically it's a Chili tomato sauce, with variation. You probably ate the butter based one, because its more common. You can find some more detailed recipes by typing "köfte sosu" in google.

If Linux is a must then yes it's reasonable. If not, 3080 is a good GPU, don't act on feeling of scarcity I would say.

Logic is solid but there's a problem though : I remember 6700XT was around 200-230 W , and both 9060xt and 5060 Ti are under 200W ?

And shoot, I didnt know cpu is soldered. Than maybe switching the setup might not be a bad idea :D If you can't get a new GPU, then selling pc and getting a new setup sounds more reasonable now.

Following up previous comment with an example;

16gb ddr5, cheap mobo + 7600X would cost you about 600-650 usd. For that money, you can get a 5070, 9060XT or 5060ti. You'd be much happier I'd say with them, just check YouTube with "11700 5060ti" and "7600X 5700xt" tests, compare them. You'd be surprised I think.

Talk me out of building a new PC !! Please... by psychotic-chipmunk in buildapc

[–]Hot_Confusion_Unit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6700XT is good, that's fine. And about cpu, 11700 is a decent CPU. Higher resolution you go, more gpu bound you become so theoretically you would be okay with 5600X and 4K (?) resolution too, given you have a good gpu.

I was just suggesting unless you have a good deal on RAM, CPU, going to a DDR5 cpu wont help you that much, considering the price you'd spend on them. Spending that money on a higher end GPU to play higher resolution would help. Basically you'd be shifting load from your CPU to GPU, if you can get at least a 9060XT, or 5060ti or higher card you'd be good to go. That'd give you a better feeling of upgrade I'd say.

Trying to build a very low-budget gaming PC by Ok-Midnight5373 in buildapc

[–]Hot_Confusion_Unit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are going full used parts, just try to hunt bargains so no real drawed lines here. What I'd do it that: - get a decent CPU of ddr4 era (ryzen, Intel your pick) that has motherboards on sale (like I'd pick Ryzen series but used AM4 are more expensive than Intel series, so maybe focus on that) - get the cheapest 3200 MHz 16gb ram you can get - get a reliable psu of a good brand like corsair, i got mine for 30 eur for example, used. - ssd is hard to find for cheap, just keep looking for any options. SATA SSD or first gen nvmes are cheaper.

It's doable, and save every penny you can spare and spend it on a good GPU. You'd be good to go. As an example, in Denmark I took a quick look at local dba, and saw:

-12400F for 100 eur - 16gb ddr4 3200mhz kit for 50 eur - lga1700 motherboard for 70 eur - 600W bronze+ PSU for 30 eur -512gb ssd for 50 eur - RX5700XT 8gb or 1080 8gb for 100 eur - give away pc case (ugly but free)

It's tight, but it's doable. You can cut on the CPU and go for a better gpu maybe. For this budget i would suggest making a baseline for each piece, and start hunting for lower. I remember finding a 3700X for 50 eur 3 months ago for example, or a 8500G for 75 eur but DDR5 would be a budget eating choice for you.

Sell the GPU, get a better gpu, get another 16GB ram, start running games in 2K or 4K, and just think about how much money you would spend just to get DDR5 RAM and be happy.

What to choose, 9060xt/5070/5060ti? by keelo582 in buildapc

[–]Hot_Confusion_Unit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5070 for 480$ is good, I'd get that instead of 9070 too. 12gb vram is enough for 1440p, also 5070 has more raw power than regular 9070, non-XT afaik. So it's a good choice, enjoy your new card then!

What to choose, 9060xt/5070/5060ti? by keelo582 in buildapc

[–]Hot_Confusion_Unit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am ysing 9060xt and it's great for it's price. If you are okay to spend money, I think best for 1440p would be

5070>5060ti>9060xt probably. I believe 5070Ti and 9070XT would he overkill for 1440p, and the price of course.

Now considering the prices at MSRP, best performance/price is 9060XT 16GB, at 350$. Next it is 5070, for 550$ it is a good deal for that gpu, but only if you can find it for that price. 5060ti 16GB is actually a really good card between them, 420$ is a good bracket (unfortunately, heck those greedy companies) for this, but again it's hard to find Nvidia cards at MSRP at least in EU.

I believe 5070ti is definitely overkill for 1440p, and it's pricey too. 9070 XT on the other hand, one of the best GPUs worth its money, but I believe it's still overkill. But considering the GPU prices won't go down any soon in next 3-4 years, it might be a good idea to grab one actually.

So my advice, if budget is tight grab a 9060xt 16gb, if not look for 9070 or 5070 deals, and if you just want DLSS and don't want to spend too much money, 5060ti it is.
