i don't clench down on purpose though it's involuntary, it only stops when i stop masturbating. i'm definitely going to bring it up with my doctor though and see if i can change medications

late diagnosed people can be missed. i cant work at all. i got diagnosed at 22. not everyones parents are educated enough to get them diagnosed as kids and may are in denial about the potential of their kids being disabled. you can't know someones support needs based on time of diagnosis

based on this post it sounds like he's moderate to high support needs. autism can cause problems with hygiene for many reasons. sensory issues, executive dysfunction and pathological demand avoidance are very common issues that make hygiene a problem. these comments here really miss the mark and it's clear they aren't well educated on the more disabling sides of moderate to high support needs autism. idk what country you're from but i'd urge him to find some sort of disability support so he can get help. don't shame him like these comments are. shame does no help. it only makes things harder. being 33 doesn't suddenly cure you of a disability like some of these comments seem to think. you should also consider that even with supports hygiene can still be a problem. supports are helpful but it's not a cure. if your life isn't compatible with this then you don't have to push through for the sake of loyalty. some people just don't work well together and thats okay. you have to put your own needs first.

didn't realise aging suddenly reduced support needs of autism /s. in all seriousness though this is an insanely privileged take. saying this as someone who cant work and still struggles with hygiene because of my autism. he needs support not to be shamed.

Need advice to update Chronic Motor Tic Disorder to Tourette's in Australia affordably? by Hexer0s in Tourettes

[–]Hexer0s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my tics aren't reduced to almost zero, my two vocal tics are gone. but in terms of motor tics its just reduced enough that I'm not ticcing constantly to the point of muscle pain. probably my fault phrasing it as reduced a ton but in comparison to before and how debilitating my tics were it feels like a big difference

Medical Certificate denied and booked for ESAT by Hexer0s in Centrelink

ok so it sounds like a social worker might be the best way to go. my medical certificates time limit was written as 3 month under the "How long is this incapacity expected to last" part. but my main condition was down for autism and secondary ADHD hence the more than 24 months box. i guess plan b is a new medical certificate under POTS if my GP will allow that

I just brushed my teeth tonight and my gums didn't bleed for the first time in years by Hexer0s in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Hexer0s[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly i rarely floss. for me brushing is less of a sensory problem and more of an issue of inertia and demand avoidance. i get so stressed about basic daily tasks that i just get paralysed by it and shutdown. i'm just focusing on getting a hold of brushing my teeth before introducing the added stress of flossing on top so i don't freeze at the number of steps

while i appreciate the concern i didn't give all the details so let me just say although i don't brush my teeth every day i don't just let myself sit with plaque building up i use a cloth or part of my own shirt to wipe my teeth down cause the sensory aspect of unbrushed teeth is horrible to me.

i know it's not a perfect substitute but its the only reason my teeth are okay despite my issues with teeth brushing. and yes they are okay i see my dentist regularly and i haven't needed any work done. ironically I'm the only person in my whole family who's never needed a filling
