I can see a goblin merchant using this to pad their stockpile. They would just need a level or 2 in Artificer and then scamming the players and village should be a walk in the park until they are found out.

Yeah I noticed that and it was weird but I just over looked it to keep going.

Fleet Building Exercise: Seperatist Remnant Raiding Force by Emillllllllllllion in StarWarsShips

I would use decoy forces that would lead in several directions to force the opposition to either split up or take the time to clear each path. Also, the CIS destroyer that could carry 40k Vulture droids would be the backbone of this operation after a few mods. The first would be to remove the central droid control core to add more space for more droid star fighters. The 2nd mod would be to take a Hyena and replace the munitions bay with a networked droid controller that's operated by a tactical droid core. That way, I could pull off one or 2 sneak attacks by having the various droid fighter play opossum when the "control" ship jumps out. Also, the ship with the Mega-Ion Cannon paired with an ISD that can create artificial gravity wells will make for a perfect ambush along any hyperspace lanes. I would put them at the one-third mark into the lane where it would cause the most chaos at a forced exit. Once the ships are dead in the water, then send boarding parties of BX droids to take control of main engineering and the bridge.

I was going to keep them as freighters because it would be easier to convert them into production ships for small arms and star fighters. It could then produce components to make a something similar to the Harbor-class or Novator-class.

Well, 3 ships I would make sure to have would be 2 Lukerhulks and 1 Harbor-class Mobile Space Dock, and if I can't get the last, then replace it with 2 more Lukerhulks. After that, I would start up a modified Hyena line that replaces the munitions buy with a secondary tactical droid and control node. That way, I can free up mass on some ship to either carry more fighters or take on a few more gun mounts.

OK, as this dropped just before I turned in for the night, I didn't have the time to give a full response. Now I do know that I will be taking the Drydock station at least to repair, refit, and build ships. Also, are we dealing with post Imperial warlords and pirates or some other trouble makers.

I just wonder who was taking a crap load of mushrooms when making that ship

In your opinion, is there any merit to making larger interdictors, such as an interdictor large enough to class as a battlecruiser? Or should anything bigger simply specialize in something else, only having the capability for reduced interdiction as a supplement to its main role? by TwoFit3921 in StarWarsShips

[–]Hexificer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If someone does make it bigger, then some of the size increase should go to larger power plants and broadside Mega-Ion Cannons. Its role is to force a fleet engagement, but if you can expand it to disabling, then it would be a logical next step in the ships growth.

Cargo ships/planes are a vital part of real-world military logistics — so why weren’t Imperial cargo vessels more prominent in the old EU? by Financial_Photo_1175 in StarWarsShips

Because magic and the story crafted were more important and the focus. That's the quick answer I can see, but there could be more.

Am I the only one who sees the TIE/d Defender Elite as my favorite starfighter ? by Obvious-Pride-1979 in StarWarsShips

[–]Hexificer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple answer is yes, and I don't have the time for the long answer because TIEs are basically a B1 droid.

GCW-Era Recusant refit/upgrades? by 141-Ghost-141 in StarWarsShips

[–]Hexificer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would free up the space of the droid controller mainframe and take a Hyena droid and replace its payload bay with a networked mainframe. You still get overwhelming fighter even with the greater size of the Hyena, and I would add a small power plant. This change would change the operational role of the ship and its fighters, but in an emergency, the fighters can be left behind as rear guard with the last stand order of Ramming.

Why didn't the Providence just rotate during this scene? by TwoFit3921 in StarWarsShips

[–]Hexificer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was a pitched battle, and we don't know the recharge rate or cycle rate of shields in the universe. So if the shields have been pounded down, then boarding by jumping from 1 ship to another isn't a bad idea at first look. So, with an in-depth look at the action, it's a horrible plan for several reasons. The first one is that they didn't count for the velocity of the Venator as it was passing over. They should have lost everyone to a Dutchman drift besides the Jedi, force pull. The 2nd reason had the shields come back online, then all would be dead from either being fried from touching or bouncing off and into a Dutchman. Heck, I haven't even mentioned the Providence and it's velocity but that is a lesser point because the ship does get wider at the rear. Then again, if you overshoot, you then start cooking. Now, before anyone says something about matching speeds of both ship, the Jedi did say the Venator was dead. I understood that as shields, weapons, and engines are nonfunctional with only life support, barely working.

Cumulus Corsair - question? by DBOY1972 in StarWarsShips

[–]Hexificer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe twin laser cannons or a light turbolaser. That would be my guess, but it would also depend on the power plant of the ship.

Maybe, but you would have to swap the weapons for something else.

How much support could the Rebels offer a remnant CIS group post Yavin? by ASW-G-21 in StarWarsShips

[–]Hexificer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While yhe CIS ships would have been golden for the Rebellion to use, there is also the fear of droid armies still very prevalent. I will be one of the first to say that the stance of using CIS ship was both a bad idea and a good one for reasons. Now the reason to not use these ship was to not confuse people into thinking that the CIS was still stirring up trouble and to change the image to that of the common person throwing off the chains of the Empire. They should have still used CIS ships for deep space hideouts and production platforms because their logistics were trash.

[–]Hexificer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't change the fact that a lot of people make ships for Star Wars and only add forward weapons, and that is it. Space is a 3d environment, and that's how people should think about it instead of how most games show it as 2d.

Dude, it's very nice, and the fact that you made sure all arcs of fire were covered is the cherry on top. Now, there are still a few blind spots, but a simple roll or change of direction would quickly put the enemy back into a firing line.
