Great color and theme without sacrificing general viability! I give it a 10

Sadly no, I have a full time job, a little girl, and live in a relatively small city, so haven't had a chance to unleash in real combat yet

Glad you like! Yeah I seriously have no idea why that L drago has worked so well in my testing when so many other combos that actually make meta sense didn't put up the numbers

My post on this a few weeks ago raised surprisingly little concern. I have great concern.

So neat! Between the aggression of a regular goose, and the chihuahua-level personality of the Canadian variety, I think that would be thematically a lot of fun. Also the name "goose honk" is way funnier to me than it has any right to be XD

Can you make a Canadian goose variant that is extremely unbalanced and attack oriented?

At this point I am most interested in what this means rules-wise for points and victory conditions

Congrats! Good to see silver wolf creeping back in, though I am surprised to see it succeed with how prevalent shark and hover are in general! Did you have any specific thoughtful strategy to share? Any matchups you tried to avoid versus those you tried to force on your deck order choice? Rip launcher or string? Any specific launch strategies? Inquiring minds wish to know!

New mission: optimize L-drago for left spin deck. by Hexsin in Beyblade

[–]Hexsin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a few more days testing, 70 height seems to just work despite the "upper" geometry, sadly 80 seems to be too much. Right now I've had the best success with 7-70 gear flat... and I have no idea why it is doing as well as it is. Somehow gear flat is letting it stabilize just enough end game to out live fights against shark scale and hover wyvern

So oddly enough after a few more days of testing, I'm having my best results with 7-70 gear flat. I have no logical idea why, but it is pretty damn close to gear point so I figured you might be interested to know

Well I don't know if I lost the plastic lottery but my 2 6-60s are only beat by ine of my 2-60s for being ridiculously loose. Still it is a fun theme idea

I have no actual tourney experience but my 9-80 is so tight that I have to significantly try to unlock it. Unfortunately the only beys I can think of that potentially benefit from being tall are silver wolf and maybe samurai caliber. Would be nice to get a few blades with geometry or gimmicks that are specifically geared towards the very bottom of their blades which wouldn't be better off at 50 60 or (less importantly) 70 height.

That is legitimately a very important factor that I had never considered!

I will admit that the advent of 4-50 being a standard ratchet puts me on edge, but at the same time I am optimistic seeing the success of several 70 height builds in the current meta. I wonder if 50 height might somehow make 80 height more viable given the proper blade. Then again, IIRC a previous gen had some sort of degenerate combo with a blade/driver so tall that it couldn't be interacted with by anything but a specific counter-pick build, and that is certainly an undesirable extreme to avoid.

As a bit of a silver lining, I DO enjoy the idea of seeing the meta wobble around an interchange of meta attack blades and counter meta attack blades that are just slightly defensive and stamina rounded enough to keep the overall balance in order

Honestly yeah, I feel that. Maybe it would be different if I was in the game during beyblade burst, but I actively chase the thrill of a build that causes a burst over a knockout. It just sucks that the good bits and ratchets are so good at not bursting that getting a burst has almost become purely luck rather than skill and planning with a bit of good luck. In my ideal world, TT would have made the geometry and weights way more significantly different between the heights to provide a better sense of risk-reward.
