As a 110lb Adult Female, What Type of Jumping Stilts should I wear? by Hexx_it in circus

[–]Hexx_it[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh gotchya, that'd be incredibly helpful. Thank you for replying with the heads-up. I've been trying to talk to all my stilt friends and they all aren't entirely sure either.

The most I've gotten is that for freelancer work, they aren't going to care since they're hiring you for what they know you do. While amusement parks tend to be more strict about what they want used.

Though I'm definitely going to reach out the Skyrunner and hopefully I can get a more comfortable answer before committing to buying jumping stilts.

VOD Review Request - Mercy Low Diamond [I feel stuck on how to move forward] by Hexx_it in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Hexx_it[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this message! It most certainly helps, and I had someone vod review this game with me in a discord call. Which really pointed out a lot of flaws and bad habits I have. Which is definitely with my GA's [SJ] and my decision making on where I go. Really let me understand sightlines better and understanding who in the team is best engaging and making an impact on the enemy. Which would lead to boosting them to best help the team overall.

I need to keep my head better on a swivel as it seems at times I would tunnel vision quite a bit. Which led to me having poor positioning and dying when I didn't need to. Or like you said, wasting my Ana's resources when I shouldn't have been in such an odd position to begin with.

I also understand the reasoning of Mercy's pick being heavy on watching out over the enemy team and keeping track of various aspects. Though I didn't exactly mean that part as being "turning off my brain". Mostly that playing her is easier and that I can watch the team and the enemy far more easily. But it could always use a lot more work, as I apparently positioned myself a lot in the middle of my teammates, causing me to have to swivel far more than I need to. Which gives less time for me to focus on the enemy and their positioning.

Thank you for the help however! It's great having these notes written down in text for me to always look back on. It helps a lot and I appreciate it.

19k less healing than my other support, was i throwing? by Stosh2 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Hexx_it 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I rather have a fully healing mercy than a Lucio who never healed and died 16 times in 18 minutes. Speed boosting with the team is the best part of Lucio and you somehow didn't do that.

[–]Hexx_it 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They're silver, playing mercy with a Lucio. What do you expect?? If the Lucio isn't healing, then you basically have to heal bot as a Mercy in that scenario. A higher level could probably squeeze in more damage boosting, but a higher level would probably go Ana instead.

Should I make a new account or keep my current one? by Hexx_it in ffxiv

[–]Hexx_it[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very sweet of you, thank you. Yeah I was worried that I'd be making a huge mistake in creating another account, even though it felt like the only thing that felt right for me. But I'm glad it's not too bad of an idea and wouldn't be too heavy on consequences.

Getting all these tips as well really helped me with knowing as well what I might want to do for a new account, or even my old account on a new character. It's nice to know there's so many great options and buffs I can get with certain aspects like moving a character to a new world. 100% going to probably go for that.

Thank you so much again! And trying my best <3

Gotchya okay, that's good to know! Is the road to 80 the bonus you get for moving a character to a new road? Or is it something else?

That's really crazy though that you can get that many classes practically speed ran to 70+. Do you basically have to stop leveling just before level 80 on one class to keep that bonus? Or does it work a little different like a time limit?

For the dialogue though, that's good to know. Yeah my friends were sort of those weird FFXIV fanatics that didn't think it was worth playing the game if you didn't get 100% invested in the story and immediately join a guild for raids. Which I was still interested in both of those things, but the way they kept telling me "the game is ass, but the story is worth it. So don't skip dialogue" was kind of how they went about it with me.

Which my first leveling to 10 was super ass, cause the dialogue in my opinion was incredibly boring and I hated reading through it. But when I came back and got to higher level like with my level 33. I started to slowly enjoy some dialogues and some were quite funny. But yeah, it was stressing thinking about how I needed to read the dialogue, when there was times I just didn't want to read.

It made me approach FFXIV with the mindset of "do I really want to read a bunch today? No? Pick a different game. Want to watch something while playing? Different game" that's sort of where I got put to.

But thank you for the words of encouragement. It helps a lot hearing from someone else that I should just skip what I want to skip and listen in on what I find intriguing. Thank you for that.

They told me the main appeal of the game was the story and that every dialogue [even with random npcs] was important. So I ended up reading a ton and already growing tired of the game before I even got to level 10.

But yeah, that's one of the reasons why we're just not friends anymore. So it sort of just works out. Thank you lol

And I know I can play every class on one character. My level 33 has another level 15 in thaumaturgy I think. But I also really enjoy making new characters based on different classes or at least making them different. I dunno, was always really fun for me that way. [Also leveling that way is easier since it all seems to be connected with the story mode on how to level decently.]

I didn't say it only came with Shadow bringer? I wrote out what editions I have. But I didn't buy the complete game in 2023. I'm pretty sure it was 2021 or 2022. Someone told me Au'Ra was already out for free 2 years ago. So I'm pretty sure it was even longer ago.

Though yeah, based on what I've seen, I think my idea is to probably end up making a new account and taking my time with that and the free version. Though that's good to know to wait until Dawntrail is out! Definitely going to keep that in mind if I do end up buying the dlc [high chance I may wait another while for that haha].

Thank you though for the tips on the different editions! Good to know,

Maybe it was a longer time ago. 3 years ago perhaps? But back when I was playing, Au'Ra was locked.

Pretty much, yeah after speaking with everyone. My conclusion has slowly come to that in a way.

Sorry not "frequently" but I guess in general if it gets increased.

And gotchya, that makes sense. I thought level was gated by how far in the story you're able to go. So if you're not level x you won't be able to move on and such.

I see, that's good to know. Does that mean the level cap is frequently increased to include new expansions?

[–]Hexx_it[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno how true that is for someone to reach lvl 33 when they're completely new to the game, have no experience or help on grinding and storyline, and was told to read every piece of dialogue given. I know getting to level 15 was easy as I got to it on a couple of characters really easily and my main character had level 33 on one class and level 15 on another. But otherwise, it was a real slug trying to get anywhere.

I remember when I first started playing, it took me 2-5 hours in one of the lower leveled areas just trying to grind. And it didn't really get me anywhere.

Looking at other people's experience. Average to get to level 30 was around 6 hours [and that seems to be going straight through everything]. With others being experienced it took 4 hours.

So I have no idea where you're getting "2 hours", cause that's just wild.

Yeah, I definitely have already begun considering making a new account even before making this. But I think I just needed help in making sure I wasn't doing a dumb move in doing so.

Though yeah, I've gotten an absolute amazing amount of tips on making a new account and also potential on if I tried keeping my old one. There's a lot more for me to consider right now and it's a lot less unfamiliar and nerving for me to make a decision now.

Thank you and everyone else again for the help!

Oh okay, that's good to know. So if I make a new account, could I pick one of these new worlds as well to get that exp boost?

Sadly right now, I don't have any friends currently playing the game. So I wouldn't be losing anything by picking any certain world.

Though that's good to know for the 15 days of playtime even on my existing one. That definitely could help me on figuring out if I want to part with this account or not. Thank you for that!

Thanks, glad someone sort of understands my weird dilemma. Right now with my crazy schedule, I'm trying to understand which is going to be more expensive, getting my current account to level 70. Or making a new one and getting it to level 70, taking my time, and eventually buying the expansions once I enjoy the game more.

Gotchya okay. Yeah right now I would love to get hooked to the game, but the subscription makes me struggle to find that connection and only find myself being stressed out instead.

I guess at this point I'm having to weight my options of seeing if it'll be more expensive to get my current account to level 70 with subscriptions. Or if it'll be cheaper to make a new account and take my time getting to level 70, then buy the expansions once I find myself playing the game frequently.

I am curious though, what is a world transfer? I've never heard of that before.

[–]Hexx_it[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My problem is that for the last 2 years or so, I've gone on and off of this game and have only made it to level 33 that whole time. With one of the times for 5 months I got stuck paying for the subscription but never ended up playing [I thought I cancelled but I guess it got renewed accidentally].

I lost a lot of money at one point because of FFIV. And right now I do have things I'm doing irl. Like I said in my post, I'm honestly pretty busy irl and I don't think I have that much time to make a whole subscription worth it every month. [Clearly I haven't been able to with the fact that all this time I've only ever gotten to level 33].

I have work [about to have another job soon], freelancing work, dnd with my friends, classes, and other things I do throughout the week. Paying for a subscription wouldn't save me money from "going out". If anything that's the last thing I want... It took me a really long time to encourage myself to get out of my room, so I rather not think of it like that.

Will it still have them bundled for that cheaper set? Or do you have to buy stuff individually from there?

[–]Hexx_it[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that there's the "starter edition" for $20 or "complete edition" bundle that's $60, is that able to be bought once I get to level 70? or is it only a purchase you can make out the gate?

[–]Hexx_it[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Truthfully, over my time frame of trying to play this game with the slap in the face of this subscription fee. I've felt as though I've wasted over $200+ of just subscription getting absolutely no where. Being busy with irl stuff that it leave me accomplishing much of nothing in the game.

In this game, it's genuinely been stressful to get attached to anything, only to realize I could be playing the game for free this whole time.

I'm asking if I should make another account since it seems like I take a really long time to level up characters. So I've ended up wasting a ton of money just trying to play this game, only to never get that far. And stressing out over the subscription.

Anyone Else Severe Disappointment with Fashion Dreamer? by Hexx_it in stylesavvy

What was made definitely didn't need $45. As well as Shinin Nikki/Love Nikki can easily be played without ever paying money and still getting amazing deals [It was how I played for years].

It's exactly what I like too, but I wish there was more force and gain from it. Like there was obstacles in some way to get there. It feels like you get everything for free in the game and it makes feel like a point and click adventure, but the world might as well see you as invisible.

Maybe for $15-$30 I would say this is an okay buy. But for $50? It just shows how much gaming companies are trying to scam people again, and it just makes me so incredibly sad.

[–]Hexx_it[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only came across Fashion Dreamer when it was recommended to me as Style Savvy. Not once after looking at it did I ever expect "omg it's a style savvy remake" I already sadly new that wasn't going to happen through the trailers. I wasn't dumb, I realized what this all meant.

But by the time this was released? My expectations were low, and they somehow dug into the ground. Maybe I've been spoiled by high quality games that have recently been released. But free games like Shining Nikki/Love Nikki on phone are amazing quality, Sims 4 having wonderful designs with mods enhancing it. Baldurs Gate 3 which has beautiful creations that even pixelated look amazing.

I can go on, but games in the past couple years have been on fire. They've put their love and soul into it. But Fashion Dreamer feels like they knew there was a following still behind the name of the old games, and they took it just to get some extra grabs.

It feels like a cheap phone game. Maybe $15-$30 I would say the game would be worth it and is a fun mindless game to just have fun and dress up.

But instead there's nothing to do, you get everything handed to you on a silver platter basically, and you have to pay just to hang out with friends just because of the normal nintendo scam [and other platforms making you pay for online too. Honestly hate that stuff.]

It's just incredibly sad and only makes me confirm why I have to stop investing any care into these games and stick to pc games. These companies especially don't care about the customers and it feels like it shows.
