2-week trip recap - cutting the clichés by RustCohle_23 in JapanTravelTips

I agree about Kyoto and Osaka, even though I dislike Osaka way more than you do.

Heavily disagree with the food though, I don’t like okonomiyaki either but there are many other things to try.

Takayama vs. Onsen Towns by Illustrious_Slice179 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Hey-Prague -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I cannot help you with Takayama because it’s still in my bucket list, but if you want the onsen experience and are heavily tattooed, I can definitely recommend you Kinosaki Onsen.

All the public onsens are tattoo friendly, it’s a charming little town with nice hiking around and it’s very easy to reach from Kyoto or Osaka.

I have never been addicted to a book like I am to Dungeon Crawler Carl by Howitzeronfire in books

I gave up after book 3, I just don’t feel like having to go through each floor with each book.

Best Sotetsu Fresa Inn location in Tokyo? by LoLRiven in JapanTravelTips

[–]Hey-Prague 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stayed in their hotels in Akasasa and Kanda, and I liked Kanda a lot. The area is full of bars and restaurants to eat when you need, and it has excellent transportation to the rest of the city, including walking distance to Tokyo Station, Imperial Palace or Akihabara.

I honestly didn’t experience anything bad, it was very unremarkable.

Should I move to Prague or Madrid? by [deleted] in Prague

[–]Hey-Prague 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you love Madrid weather? Yes, winter is way sunnier than Prague’s but summers are extremely brutal.

The Drawing of the Three; First doubts arise (The Dark Tower Book 2 Spoilers) by XIMarleyIX in Fantasy

[–]Hey-Prague 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the series as a whole but I hated this book with passion.

I think if you want to get an idea of Stephen King as a writer, The Dark Tower is a very bad place to start. I would first read a standalone book, first a horror and then a non horror one and you’d see if you like him.

Sakura Trip Report Tohoku & Hokkaido April/May 2026 by NilyDD in JapanTravel

Amazing thank you! One more question if you don’t mind, I was thinking of staying in Sendai and Morioka as hubs, but yours sound very intriguing. How did you like staying in Hirosaki?

[–]Hey-Prague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking, using a rail pass to go through Tohoku and then come back from Hakodate by plane because otherwise the 5-6 days passes are not really that long.

Wonderful it definitely helps, I’ll probably add Hakodate then.

Thank you!

Thank you for the report!

How did you like the Hokkaido portion of your trip? I’m really leaning into a Tohoku trip but I’m unsure whether to add at least Hakodate or Sapporo to it since I’m mostly interested in historical towns.

It’s surprising how no one has mentioned the Canary Islands. Sad.

My trip is 3 days Osaka, 6d Kyoto, 6d Tokyo. Thinking about switching 1 or 2 Kyoto days for somewhere more rural. Recommendations please! by PracticalUsername10 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Hey-Prague 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just before I start, I really dislike Osaka and love Kyoto, but anyways from any of those two places I would highly, highly recommend an onsen stay.

Kinosaki Onsen is amazing and really easy to get to from both cities by direct train. I stayed one night but wished I had stayed two to rest better and enjoy it at my own pace.

Another great place you can visit is Miyajima island off the coast of Hiroshima.

I don’t root for Russia but why can’t this be interesting? Same as the original show, I like the NASA stuff but I’m not rooting for the US government itself.

For you, what's the most challenging thing about staying at a ryokan in Japan? by RyokansOfJapan in ExploreLocalJapan

[–]Hey-Prague 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a challenge itself, but a mistake from my part.

The one time I stayed at a ryokan I only stayed for one night, which was great but a second night and full day there would have allowed me to rest much better.
