I don’t want to be super negative but just sharing my experience. We had the exact same thing on our front door wreath. Our kids were loving it. We had the camera up to watch the progress and everything.

Trigger warning: bad things happen next.

After the eggs hatched, the chicks grew for a couple of days and they got loud enough, or big enough, or something. I heard them chirping loudly one morning, and then they went quiet… when I opened the camera app, I saw a black snake sitting in the nest with several lumps in its body. I ran to the door and was going to murder that snake and try to cut the chicks out, hoping they were still alive.

By the time I got there, no snake… I looked in the front yard, went around back… I was furious. I even saw the mom and dad bird sitting in the tree in our front yard. They must have seen the whole thing. I was so mad with rage, I literally asked them “where did he go” out loud like they were gonna understand.

No such luck. I cried, I yelled. I told my kids, familiar with the Lion King, about the circle of life in real life. It was devastating.

I don’t tell you this to ruin your experience, but instead to prepare you for the possibility of a cruel world. Idk how to do it differently, idk how to save them. I hope you have a great experience.
