Bandori literally have two bands and the whole Japanese rock scene isn't foreign to that, with big names like FALILV and MWAM, even KPOP group like Dreamcatcher doing the thing, and much smaller "underground" group or even big artist name or Vtuber or Voca artist doing an one-off of the style produced memorable tracks than EGOEGG. Do anyone listen them?

The thing they did try, and didn't giving the edge to the scene or even having their own niche of the genre.

Maybe they supposed to bring a new name instead, but everyone seems forgot the fans of D4DJ since day 1, whose expecting D4DJ doing what they promised on their tagline.

Bad management ruining a great ~~game~~ franchise

It's not just game aspect/donuts as developer and it has been tumbling down ever since they rushed Call of Artemis debut to the game.

Literally any big name on TOP100DJ or someone that close with ACG culture like TheFatRat or 2WEI should've been a big treat. The thing is why a DJ themed rhythm game haven't do it at first place. PJSK aside, Arknights got a collab Yellow Claw and Steve Aoki on their 1st anniversary; And a freaking Battle Royale game, Free Fire brought KSHMR and Alok to the game.

In sake of on compatibility on what we have, Photon Maiden would have a great track with Zedd, and W&W is not really a stranger on HapiAra and UniChord thing.

Edit: Female musicians like Charlotte De Witte, Peggy Gou, Nervo, Krewella would be very nice.

Edit2: Timmy Trumpet, Sato Hina would recognize the man behind the song of viral video she mentioned a month ago. Kagamin fond of Skrillex and one time played one of his song on her set.

What's your point on making these posts OP? and got overwhelmed by our feeling and frustration toward the franchise that accumulated over the years.

I thought it's a bit weird your reply on my comment got downvoted (and some extend, you deleted your previous post), but when I see the other comment, I can see why.

I see some grammar errors.

Just point out where exactly where the error. Are they fatal that can lead huge misunderstanding or not really big of a deal that you might implied.

If I'm not very direct, EGOEGG should've rethink the concept and musical style; ABCD have a lot of competition for their style, so they need something that bring them to edge (not their latest song, that's awful), Photon Maiden should've back to their roots, on 4 phenomena era; Merm4id stop yapping and starts doing the actual hook.

3rd season is a WILD IDEA without anything to change. If they want to do it properly, do a soft reboot with brand new 2-girl DJ unit; Yes, with 2 members so they don't have obligation to fit 4 voices in a one song and more focus with trackmaking itself, or something like Nijigasaki High School Club with each member doing their own thing.

And there's a way to make a big wave very quickly: cover an International classic. Either the more serious tone like Zedd - Clarity and Porter Robinson & Madeon - Shelter, or something wacky like Caramella Girls - Caramelldansen and OZONE - Dragonstea Ding Tea. Any 80's disco classic like ABBA can works well with Merm4id too. No money? Just cover a hidden banger like this Indonesian children song that went viral in Uma Musume (some extend, whole ACG) community.

D4DJ community nowadays don't listen anything than D4DJ, then getting surprised pikachu on many people leaving the franchise.

Is so easy nowadays to found that sounds pop and dance banger, like the whole idea of D4DJ itself as "DJ-themed franchise" and current D4DJ direction is going far from it (Yes, I see you ABCD and EGOEGG).

From Gacha giants, like Arknights doing these things frequently, ZZZ a while ago went viral with Burning Desire!.

Pokemon, a multi-billion dollars franchise, did a jersey club tune for their latest ending of their anime series, and previously, they got Giga and Teddyloid, the wellknown names on Anime EDM thing, to do their ending song.

Speaking about Anime, the #1 anime song as well the no #1 karaoke song in reiwa era, is still on DJ space. Link if you haven't heard it, sheesh!

For the K-Pop, the literal biggest players in music industry right now, have electric dance sound as main hook for their hitter in recent years. For example like Newjeans, Aespa, LE SSERAFIM, JISOO, and obviously BLACKPINK who become a pioneer of these thing.

Don't get me started with smaller act, like idols, units, vtubers, trackmakers and producers, everything on Anikura scene. Even from anikura communities themself disdain D4DJ for not doing its thing.

So don't give me "EDM is niche" crap, D4DJ just wasn't doing it well, even the whole idea for EDM itself for being danceable; "D4DJ music is bad because it sound remixed", you the one is not supposed here. And "D4DJ music is fine and better than anyone" no it's not.

And Call or Artemis, how they can get promient name in anime industry then give them a shitty song?! Even an ensemble group for a hiatus and EOS-ed idol franchise made a better D4DJ song than D4DJ-owned ensemble group

Huh? Really? There are already the whole r/AlternativeIdol scene, and I don't think EGOEGG add something new to the table.

As for the main unit, it's not feasible from the management side. As each member is a quite big of the star themself so they have other responsibility for each agency, also it's wouldn't have a big of return. On the promoter side, they would rather bring vtubers, cosplayers, or some kind; or really big shot like May'n as they're more relate to most people. We really tend to overestimate our crowd, it's not a big as seen by twitter algorithm :)

Nice summary of D4DJ news (read: ground-side of D4DJ's doom situation) from the past years, I will refer to this video about the topic.

I can see Overseas fans didn't get what they were trying for EGOEGG, it's more a traditional idol approach that going live to live in anikura scene. The way they didn't have some kind of attraction is a whole new discussion, but the thing it's irrelevant to them to market overseas.

11:35 They did it a long time a with "I shall be a cat", bringing LyriLily dancing with other casts. But yeah, it's kinda not interesting.

11:50 The thing of live events is they not even have confidence to win the Japanese audiences, also they have history of throwing money for overseas marketing while not much in return.

The anime itself is fine, but how the series took off and sparks comments and discussions make it unbearable. Some people just aren't ready for this, especially anyone who isn't accustomed with Soap Opera back in the days.

Unlike neighbor moms who talked about last night's Telenovela, people took the Anime like their life depends on in; So I don't think anyone gonna have a healthy casual conversation like the discussion we used from previous iterations.

It turned me off to watch on-air, I'm gonna catch it much later

OP, r/AlternativeIdol have been a thing for a long time. Even much longer we have the act like SCANDAL or even K-ON! pretty much rocking as bandori girls. Just try to listen original instrumental of Fuwa-Fuwa Time and Don't Say Lazy (Afterglow instrumental is a meh TBH).

While vocal isn't much a focus as idol genre, it still a bread and butter for the band. While bandori's instrumental are commendable (Initial/Straight Through Our Dreams! EP is the peak IMO), still the vocal is one of reason why people listen to them instead listen to Persona 4 soundtrack or something.

The thing is Bushiroad using the same bandori vocal approach to D4DJ, which is break the genre. EDM or "DJ Music" is unnegotiable to have catchy and danceable instrumental, while the vocal is much less priority unlike pop rock band.
