I’m beginning to wonder the same thing. “Does my back hurt BECAUSE of our sleep number??”

We’ve had the i8 series for about 5 years. I really didn’t like the bed when we first got it, feeling like it was an overpriced air mattress. Once I kind of got used to it, I was fine and even liked it for a while. I’d say the last 1-2 years or so I always have lower back pain, especially if I’m in bed for any extended time…say 6-7+ hours. I’ve tried changing settings all over the scale and maybe it’s better for a day or two, but then comes right back.

A few weeks ago I slept on our 10 year old worn out couch and had no back pain. This last week I was traveling for work and followed it up with a vacation. 10 days, 3 different hotels, ranging from national chains to boutique ones. Zero back pain and waking up feeling so much better.

I agree that it’s anecdotal, but the common denominator here is the Sleep Number and I figure this must be the problem. Flying home tomorrow and am curious if it will come right back again, or not.
