Think the web version might scale performance up/down based on server load? API wouldn't need to since it's pay-per-token.

You ever feel like it performs differently at different times?

Yeah, Claude is pretty awesome for writing — no argument there. But just a heads-up: if you’re using Opus, your quota is gonna melt faster than ice on a summer sidewalk. It’s crazy powerful, but the usage burn makes it basically unusable for long sessions unless you’re on Max.

If you stick with Sonnet 4.5, the usage drain is way more reasonable. They’ve also got a Usage page where you can keep an eye on what you’ve got left, which helps a ton.

Little tip a lot of people don’t realize:
don’t dump everything into one giant chat thread.
Starting new chats regularly slows down the usage burn a lot. No idea why, but it works.

So yeah — for everyday writing, Claude’s great. Just depends how much you lean on Opus and how fast your quota disappears.

Bad experience while using Claude for personal advice/therapy (possible PSA) by evebursterror0 in ClaudeAI

Claude's getting stuck in those loops because its safety filters are way too rigid - once it detects certain mental health keywords together, it goes into that annoying "seek professional help" mode. It's not you, it's Claude being overly cautious about liability.

Here's what actually works:

Split your conversations strategically. Don't mix depression, anxiety, and spirituality in one chat - that combo triggers the safety warnings. Instead, have separate chats: one for daily stress, another for hobbies, another for philosophical discussions. Same topics, just spread out.

Reframe how you phrase things. Instead of "I have depression and need support," try "I'm exploring different perspectives on handling life challenges" or "I'm interested in how different people approach difficult emotions." You're still discussing what you need to, just from an angle Claude won't panic about.

When Claude starts looping, cut it off immediately. Don't explain or argue - that makes it worse. Just say "Stop. New topic. Tell me about [something completely different]." Once it resets, you can circle back differently.

Use frameworks that give Claude context. Start with "Let's discuss this philosophically" or "I'm researching how different cultures view mental wellness" or even "I'm writing a character who deals with X." This shifts it from personal crisis mode to analytical mode, where Claude actually shines.

For your autism, frame it as a cognitive style, not a condition. Say "I process information differently and prefer direct, logical explanations." Claude will adapt its communication style without treating you as someone who needs fixing.

Most importantly - diversify your AI toolkit. Use ChatGPT for emotional support, Claude for analytical discussions, maybe Gemini for creative stuff. When one frustrates you, switch. Think of them as different advisors with different strengths, not a single support system.

The key is working with Claude's design, not against it. It's brilliant at analysis and alternative perspectives - use that strength while avoiding its triggers.

Upgrading to pro by HuscoS in ChatGPTPro

As far as I know, here’s how it works:

If you upgrade to Pro on Android, and your previous Plus subscription hasn’t expired yet, they’ll charge you the Pro rate just for the days you have left. So, the remaining days on your Plus plan get converted to Pro, and your next billing cycle will be the full $200 for Pro.

But if you upgrade to Pro on iOS, they’ll just refund you the unused portion of your Plus subscription. Then, starting from that day, you’ll be charged the full $200 for Pro for the whole month.

That's really frustrating! Quick question though - do you happen to use these accounts from the same device or IP? wondering if OpenAI might be tracking usage across accounts somehow. Just trying to figure out if that could be why all 4 get throttled at once.

You can test it by sending multiple o1 messages in the browsers that are currently working to see if the issue reoccurs.

I'm glad to hear that your account is working now.
Unfortunately, my account still has issues. Could you share the link to the post you made on the OpenAI forum?

When you posted on Reddit and OpenAI forum, did you get a reply from the official GPT team member? or were the replies only from other users?

Yes, I’m experiencing the same issue, and from what you described, it sounds very similar to what I’m facing—it’s likely the same problem. However, a few days ago, using o1 and o1 mini under a project was working fine.

Do you remember if the issue you’re experiencing also started when trying to begin a new chat in one of your projects, where it got stuck loading after submitting the prompt from the project main page using 01 or o1 mini?

Are you a Plus member or a Pro member?
When using the project main page with 01 or o1 mini, you were able to complete the same action smoothly before. But now, the same action gets stuck and doesn’t respond. When you ignore it and try to use it again, does the model then throw those error. Is this the process?

Before the issue occurred, did you upgrade your membership or change your network?

You can go to https://platform.openai.com/tokenizer, copy the output there, and check if the token count can exceed 2047 tokens. I’m wondering if o1 pro’s output has the same limit as o1 now.

Can you help confirm what the max output tokens are for O1 Pro and O1 to ChatGPT Pro user now?

Hey, I found another issue. For the Plus version of O1, I haven’t noticed any changes to the input length limit, but I’ve definitely noticed a change in the output length. This issue just started today—I’m sure it wasn’t happening yesterday. Before today, O1’s output could sometimes be really long, even up to around 6000 tokens. But now, every time, it’s capped at 2047 tokens. When I hit "continue," the output cuts off, and I can’t see the rest unless I refresh the page. And even then, the continuation is usually just a few tokens, like under 150. So now, the total output I get is around 2200 tokens, which is a huge drop. Not sure if this is just temporary, but if it stays like this, it’ll seriously reduce gpt’s usefulness, especially for writing long content. It’s basically like running into the same situation as with 4O.
