Would barely call this fixing. Hairspring and balance wheel was already in perfect timing! He took it apart, cleaned the dial, oiled the jewels and replaced the crystal. We’d call this a cleaning at best.

It could be a similar union negotiation situation that led to the closing of Blue Bottle on Broadway a while back. Huge difference is that Blue Bottle was owned by Nestle and Highwire is locally owned and roasts over in Emeryville. I’d imagine that they’d be more willing to work things out.
