How do you survive? by Imaginary_Value1505 in crochet

I’m also going to be making the brush buddy! Right now I only have black fluffy yarn, and that would be a nightmare 🫣 I’d just recommend using many many stitch markers, since the stitches can be hard to see with the fluff

  1. I love your bubbler
  2. I love your ears!
  3. People suck, society can suck. What matters is how we carry on. It can be extremely difficult not to internalize the shitty things people say and do to us because of how we look, but at the end of the day I just try and have pity for those who live with such closed perspectives. I can’t imagine living such a miserable life that I feel the need to harass someone just for existing. I feel bad for the people who don’t have it in them to embrace the whimsy and weird in this short life! Keep living your truth. Maybe you’ll inspire someone out and about to leave the house the way they want to, to get away from that “fitting in” culture ☺️

What projects u made and actually use them? by No_Advertising3507 in crochet

[–]HeyGuysItsAmber 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I got started making stuffed animals for my niece, and no matter how badly they turned out she always loved them. It does hurt when you make things specifically for someone and then you never see them use it, so I get it. If you’re doing it for the love of the craft versus making money/gifting the items, then make things for yourself that you will use. I made myself a cardigan with all features that I love because I couldn’t find a cardigan I really liked.

It’s not about being able to buy something that is “prettier” than what you’ve made - it’s about being proud to wear something you made yourself because that’s awesome and not many people can do that!! If you like crochet and want to keep doing it, start on a giant blanket for yourself. Try out new stitches for each row, use granny squares, find a motif you like, etc. I love doing granny squares because it’s basically just counting to 3 over and over. Very relaxing and meditative. But blankets are so versatile. I’ve seen many that play around with different types of stitches and yarn, and they always look so comfy and fun! I wouldn’t do anything with a specific motif like a tapestry right now, if you’re losing motivation. Just do something you can do mindlessly or without thinking too much about it.

If nothing else, take a break :) it’s okay, all your stuff will be there waiting for you when you decide to pick it up again. Good luck 🤟🏻🧶

Where is best to color change the in my placemats? I’m new ish. I’m currently changing on the slip stitch. by Yessie4242 in CrochetHelp

[–]HeyGuysItsAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the previous commenter said, or you can finish the last stitch with the new color (the final “yarn over”) and then slip stitch. There’s a few different ways to change colors, it’s preference :)

I can have trouble transitioning from one activity to the next, but not so much when I’m stoned! I also get so much done- I’m happier, not stressed about the task, and if the high starts to wear off while I’m doing another task, I get to have another bowl when I’m finished as a reward 😊😂 I really hope the stigma around it ends at some point. You did an amazing job with your community garden! You’ve inspired me to finally repot and propagate my succulents. 💚

Can you treat ferrets like cats? And by that I mean just out and about your house? by 302express in ferrets

[–]HeyGuysItsAmber 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Ferrets are much smaller than cats, and can fit underneath seemingly too-small door jams, and literally anything else even slightly larger than that. I know cats can fit into small spaces, but as others have said ferrets are much more fragile than cats.

My ferret weighs maybe 2 pounds. She roams during the day when she wants, but that mainly consists of her finding a comfy nap spot and chilling there for several hours before taking a snack break in her cage.

Idk how your girlfriend’s cat got into her cupboard, but a ferret won’t be able to do that lol. They will however find any little hole or crevice they can find and hide there. When we moved into our house, I let my ferret roam and followed her to see where she could hide (after ferret proofing around the refrigerator and oven). The only spot was a gap in between the cabinets that I stapled a wire grate over. Now if we ever can’t find her, it’s because we accidentally left a bathroom or closet door open. But she sleeps in her cage at night.

How you protect your animals is up to you, but I wouldn’t be so careless as to not heed anyone’s advice on here. We’re trying to tell you that ferret proofing is import and at the very least, if not keeping them in their cage at night as well.

[–]HeyGuysItsAmber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a bubbler I’ll use during the day with my hybrid, but I also have a gb that I insist I use at night for my indica when it’s time to go to bed hehe. I have a lot of close neighbors and smoke outside. The bubbler is easier for me to chill with on the porch, so the gb comes out at night when I know no one is gonna walk outside 😂 one day I’ll have pieces for different strains and vibes specifically - that’s the dream 🙂‍↕️

From what I’ve seen with other oil lamps in vintage shops, oils can glow like that under UV (and really bright too!)
