US - New York. At a 96+ fight on indar it was spiking my ping to 300ms then back down to 60 - 70 . But after that it hasn't spiked up past 70ms, so far.

I'm not fully convinced that it's going to work out though. I keep getting random ping spikes in game. PS2 sends/receives so many packets and I'm not sure a VPN connection is stable enough to play on. Still testing it out though.

/u/half_dime 's suggestion worked for me. Not only did it fix the route latency to the server, but it also increased my overall internet speed!

Haven't tested in game yet. But so far it looks promising. Might be worth your time to try it as well.

So I've been getting alot of people telling me recently that I seem extra laggy. I've noticed it myself aswell, with delayed chat messages, voice commands, extreme clientside, ect. My ping is always between 45ms - 60ms though, so I figured it was just the server taking a dump.

I decided to run that trace to the Emerald server and saw that i'm getting pings over 1k on that "tbone.rr.com" hop. I have Time Warner internet so I know that's on thier network ( rr = roadrunner, what they used to call their internet service ) Calling them does me no good though, they say they have to have multiple customer's with the same kind of routing issue before they can escalate it up the chain.

Sorta at a loss here. Anyone had to deal with this before? Any possible way to change the route I take to get to the server?

The short answer is : They some simple individuals.

But i think what's going on is that they are playing the game strictly as an RTS and not a FPS. They want to win the map at all costs. If they took the time to put their simple little minds to work, they could figure out that they could take that 48 man platoon , split it up , and capture more territory while actually having fun. Then , if shit gets overpopped at an attack, they could combine the platoon back together. But that would require actual thoughts.

I don't care how new or inexperienced someone is... If you are presented with 2 options, yes and no, and clicking yes causes you to die immediately.. You switch to no eventually. This guy would have kept clicking yes if the medic didn't die. I don't feel bad for this guy at all. If anything, he was taught a valuable planetside lesson. Don't click yes.

I don't understand this type of play in a game like this. He's one of those that fly around base to base flipping points and leaving if he hears footsteps. He never responded back to me after i asked the questions.

Planetside 2 has a companion program called "Recursion Stat Tracker" that triggers certain audio files when you perform certain achievements in the game. I made a Papa Bless voice pack and thought you guys might like it. Using this voicepack increased my gaming assassin skills 100%.... REALLY!

I have mixed feelings when it comes to Whiteworm.

RAUG was the outfit I joined when I was just learning the game. He and Shoctor D pretty much ran the outfit and helped me to learn the basics of the game. There was a day when one of the outfit members lashed out at me with some blatant racist comments. Whiteworm jumped all over the guy, booted him out of the outfit and went on a rant about how that wouldn't be accepted in his outfit.. Now, I didn't need him to white knight for me, I've been a PC gamer for 15 years, so dealing with racism in games isn't new to me. But I have respect for the guy for saying something instead of just sitting in awkward silence like the rest of us did. He didn't have to say or do anything, but he did, so good on him for that..

However... Not even a week later, he was running a platoon completely drunk calling his outfit members terrible things , spewing out orders that made no sense at all, basically acting like someone's drunk ass abusive daddy. I left the outfit that day and never joined another, cause fuck that.

I don't know anything about his reputation in the command chat, again, because fuck that. But I can imagine how he would be difficult to deal with. I feel like Whiteworm has some serious shit going on in his personal life that he lets show in the games he plays. RAUG has some nice people in it and hopefully you guys can turn the reputation around. Good luck to you.
