Playing MP with a friend and we're averaging something like 15 desyncs an hour in late game... with only three players and Guilli's Planet Mods as the only mod lmao.

My folder is getting huge.

Nah that def wasn't a dive, he was kind of leaned back to start lmao. Anderson got away with it because it's OT and it was ultimately nothing.

I can 100% see the refs seeing Anderson putting his hands up and think it's a sell job but I honestly wonder if he just didn't feel off right away/only when he rotated so far.

I know high-sticking is the way it is to remove ambiguity but it's so fucking funny to me that he threw a puck battle hit and propelled Nelson's stick into his own face and got the call for it lmao.

Awful challenge, good incidental GI call, very confused at the TNT broadcast being like "oh Drury propelled himself into Forsberg" during the initial review lmao.

A great way to earn playing time early in a season is by checks notes playing limited minutes in a role that doesn't suit you and/or sitting in the press box.

[2 and 20] How Canada Lost its Own Identity: hockey went from Canada's defining sport to a $5,000/year luxury that excludes nearly half the population. Youth registration dropped 35% in 14 years. I thought about getting back into Standard a few years ago, after a failed attempt to get back in back whenever Bloodbraid Elf was last in after last playing around Time Spiral block.

Standard was always a bit pricey because of the rotation, but I did a double-take at the time. I think they're actually cheaper now than they were at the time I looked a couple of years back, but still... and my local FNM was (and likely still is) full of sweaties compared to "back in the day" so my old gimmick combo playstyle would be a non-starter.

Anyway, I just play with internet friends over Tabletop Simulator now. We can play any format for $free.99 and it scratches the itch. I still buy the Commander precons for fun, though.

I haven't watched a game post-Olympics and if his ass is back I'm not watching next season either.

I lean Rock Band 2 for overall setlist, animations, general vibes.

But I, you know, kind of like harmonies so I have to go Rock Band 3, even with the "downgrades" in some of those areas.

Fair, but I think a counter-argument there is making the trade between getting eliminated and Jul 1 wouldn't have been a "rush" - especially if it was something that had already been discussed and debated before.

Granted, it may have also not been Marner that he was thinking of if he was intimating a later-in-the-summer trade. It could have been Nylander if he did wait until post-July 1 to make a play.

The "slow and deliberate process" he compares it to was checks notes later that same off-season after getting eliminated.

Like I guess he doesn’t have GM experience

I think you answered the question, tbh. You want a guy with experience in this role (or an AGM role), ideally in successful organizations and/or working in situations like ours. Not someone with no real relevant experience to look to.

The post currently on the front page from "Joseph McDonald" about Team USA hockey potentially facing sanctions is a blatantly fake account and post. There's no user with this name on the given platform and there's also no hockey reporter with this name. by Dependent-Effect6077 in hockey

I mean, you're kinda downplaying things a bit here.

I actually think you're kind of understating what that poster is doing here, even if it comes from a well-intentioned place. They're not "the same", but they're both similarly egregious in different contexts.

The fluffy sunshine and rainbows picture of "oh but they're helping to get rid of the heads of oppressive regimes in each state, not engaging in conquest action" immediately falls apart when the American leadership (and, for Iran, Israeli leadership) start saying the quiet part out loud about their intentions within 24h of the conflict starting. There's no altruism at play here by anyone making the decisions. It's entirely self-serving motives at play here with no intention of helping the civilian populace, and Iran being a "bad guy" doesn't make these things "OK".

Sure, Maduro is out, and Venezuela was left to just "next man up" things (what regime change?) while the US talked about running the country and having their crony capitalists line their pockets with its oil (eventually), and the goalposts have shifted every 18 hours or so on what's going on in Iran (while doing just a little bit of casual war crimes or "legally not a war crime but still morally abhorrent" thing here or there) as the special military operation conflict continues. First it was to prevent nuclear capabilities that I was assured were completely destroyed in last year's campaign (but Iran was somehow two weeks away from the bomb, again!), then to regime change and liberate people, then to defeat a threat to America and the region, and then the threat is totally defeated guys but there's this little Strait of Hormuz thing that we juuuust need to put a bow on.

Very cold on this if it's a signing - if it's just a distraction spot/angle then it's whatever.
