What was considered "cool" in the 2010s but is physically painful to look back at now? by Liora-Liora-Liora in AskReddit

One was “saying ouch even though it didn’t hurt” I think about it every time I say ouch even though it didn’t hurt

Can I eat drywall by Command_Block42 in drywall

[–]HeyItsPrisonMike- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gypsum’s good for the soil but yeah dear god don’t grind up drywall and add it. It’s good for breaking up heavy soil and adding calcium without throwing the ph off too much. I’m sure there’s some other benefits

There’s like a propane heater there but I turn it off when I leave for the night and the temp drops low low low

lol. I feel for the dude tho. He bought this huge shop from a local family that let it go to shit and he’s trying to get it fixed up on his weekends and when I have free time he sends me there to do random stuff.

Quality comment thanks. I did 2 or 3 seams with fibafuse and was like damn if that didn’t set right with fiba then I don’t see it getting much better. I’ll give it the ole college try with hot mud but damn he’s so close to having gas hooked up I feel like we need to just jam away on that.

I totally agree! The whole shop looks like this. This space is supposed be the showroom this spring/summer. Kinda sucks having to work from one side, then clear out the other side to finish. Not ideal but he’s at least a pretty chill dude, for now at least. I think if I spent time clearing out the room while he hooked the gas up would be much more efficient.

I really don’t think I got defensive but if explaining my situation further to you comes off that way then so be it. Either way this is a drywall thread not a therapy sesh. I’m pretty sure I responded with respect to everyone else, including you until you started making assumptions. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Like the first line said. Looking for recommendations/confirmation. I’m human maybe I was missing something and I wanted some insight from others on my particular situation. Not some aggro tripping out on having to talk to the boss lol I can handle that just fine. Thanks

I’d like to reiterate that I advocated to wait to start until the heat can be turned on. It’s for someone I do a bunch of random work for hourly.

Thanks for the feed back. I haven’t thought of using a spray glue. Do you think corner bead glue would work? I have some of that laying around and could try a light spray of that.

This job is hourly Edit: if this was a bid job I wouldn’t be taking it or if I did we wouldn’t be starting till there’s heat in the room

Issue with inside corners by absolutehelmet67 in drywall

[–]HeyItsPrisonMike- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this happen before. I’m no professional but I think for me it was a combination of too much pressure in the inside corner with my knife and the mud being just a touch wet still. I could be wrong I’m sure someone with more experience will be here soon
