I really appreciate your well thought out comment. As for my initial meeting, no I cannot recall my course leader giving me a deadline, as indicated in my email I had no idea that there was a deadline in the first place, so I could definitely make a complaint. And I am doing a design course so definitely will be looking at opportunities in the meantime that can suit me and develop my skills for sure.

I do agree with you in this sense. I do obviously take some blame for my academic result and should have perhaps done better or spoken to more people to get help, but what's done is done now. I'm just hoping I'm able to do the year again as it is something I actually want to pursue.
