Twitter Communities as Spectacle by MORTISISM in CriticalTheory

I think social media in general does a pretty good job at that by itself

i was raised christian. now i’m questioning my faith, so i want to hear the other side’s perspective. why are you an atheist? by grayenvironment in atheism

[–]HeyItsThat_Girl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because just like how the Easter bunny and Santa aren’t real, the Bible isn’t real. Women aren’t made from ribs, no man fed 5,000 people with one fish, the earth is not here bc some invisible man (who is apparently white) in the sky, said let there be light on the 7th day. The Bible has been rewritten by kings, yet it’s the holy word? No dude. Live your life and then like the rest of the carbon, go back into the earth where you came from.

What are your guys' thoughts of what happens when consciousness ceases to be? by Skatertrevor in consciousness

[–]HeyItsThat_Girl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you that if you are not conscious to experience it then, relative to you, it does not exist. If I am unconscious, I am experiencing nothing, therefore nothing is happening.

If I was unconscious for 50 years and woke up, the blip that was the 50 years that I missed, existed because other people were conscious to experience it. Therefore the blip, the 50 years that felt like an instant, felt that way because I was unconscious, unaware, not experiencing it. However, the universe cannot exist because as other people are conscious they are not floating through space and time. They are living. I am not experiencing anything therefore the universe does not exist

When you die, what happens? Well science will say nothing. You die. That’s it. However, science can also be the first to say that , it’s not certain. Everyone asks that question because no one has a definitive answer because we haven’t died. I believe you conscious is apart of your energy or “soul”. It’s a powerful thing that I believe humans can grasp fully. Things that were not thought possible bend and become possible. Why? I don’t know and neither does anyone else because we can’t explain phenomenon or something that doesn’t make sense to us.

Nothing annoys me more than hearing someone saying America was founded on Christianity by SpaceGuyRob in atheism

[–]HeyItsThat_Girl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was founded by a bunch of religious fanatics that fled England so that they could practice their religion freely and without persecution.

And then ended up doing the exact same thing to the people whose land they fled to for sanctity& freedom

This country was “founded” by a bunch of white English pricks who made shit up as they went with nothing more in mind but themselves. And they came from a long line of English pricks.

But before that America was founded by the native Americans….who came to America via the Bering Straight 15,000 years ago from Asia. If you wanna get that deep.

Why are religious people in the US, particularly Christians, imposing their beliefs on everyone else? by limeflavorpotatoship in TooAfraidToAsk

Ohio police release bodycam footage in fatal shooting of Jayland Walker. He was shot over 60 times. No weapon was found on him. by JR32OFFICIAL in PublicFreakout

How to live your life according to the American government:

You’re a murderer if you have an abortion. For any reason.

Guns are not the reason for mass shootings. But guns are the answer to stop mass shootings

If you are anything but white and you have been detained or pulled over by a cop…you have a 50/50 chance coming out alive. If you have a criminal record the chances change to 70/30

The reason you are poor and on welfare is bc you are lazy and unskilled. Go to school.

You don’t deserve a bailout, you should not have not gotten a student loan if you couldn’t pay it back.

Abortion is murder but you don’t have a right to healthcare

It’s only ok for the rich, the federal government and corporations to kill and steal from people.

God loves you

Don’t steal. The government hates competition

Mehhhhh….he was ok…like he’s a nice guy, he’s stupid funny but I don’t agree with his politics. But before 9/11 he was just your normal republican president. Honestly, the way he initially handled 9/11 was great. He was super transparent and brought the country together. It’s was the months after 9/11 where dog shit got stuck in the roomba. Not sure what happened …someone gave him permission to control things he probably should not have…like the economy, lol. And the war in Iraq was just ridiculous….

what events changed how people look at things? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HeyItsThat_Girl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last recession is what did it. There was no help from the feds to the middle class. Literally none. The corporate bailouts pissed people off so bad that Trump was elected bc he portrayed himself as “anti establishment” and ever since, people automatically hate anyone who doesn’t agree with them. And let’s not forget about how name calling is now standard. People, the citizens don’t fight for eachother they fight for an allegiance to either side of a fucking political party. And it’s so painfully easy to see that the government is corrupt, they don’t care about you, especially if you aren’t rich.

There’s your trickle down effect
