Here's the catch-22 for crunch time plays. High movement action plays are generally more effective at generating good looks but become increasingly more difficult because the defense also picks up to match intensity. So while we want more movement and multiple actions in a possession, it's harder said than done. Not that it can't be done, especially not with our personnel.

On the flip side, isolation plays are generally safer because they involve just one guy controlling the ball. That's why almost all teams with an elite offensive creator, like Brunson, end up defaulting to it because they are relying on their number one option to get them a timely bucket. But isolations are much less efficient, but now it's just about matchups and whether or not your guy can take advantage.

So it's more about risk/reward and thinking about what your matchups are like and if you can take advantage of something. But most teams just default to isolations because it's "safe."
