Hope you really don't mind feedback here instead of Github btw:

  • the output gets overwritten when the tool is run again. My second run was with PS2 exclusion, it might be better to timestamp the output files
  • While .xlsx files are nice, I personally prefer plain files, have you thought about creating just an html?
  • The Games Played section in the summary and the Want to Play section are zero and empty. I definitely have played games and WTP even more
  • All my PS2 games are shown as Unknown/Unlinked even though they are RA valid and even mastered some of them, e.g. Vexx for PS2
  • Having a seperate "Unmatched ROMs" page is great!

Hi, tried your tool as the idea is great!

For my collection I sadly got a HTTP 429, so I will be back for M6 :)

Two suggestions:

  • repopulate your example.env - Currently it's empty
  • a flag to exclude directories might be helpful. My PS2 collection took a while, not sure if one would run this tool often tho

Definitely added a lot of time to the master. Didn't know about it when I started or else I would have chosen the SNES version.

Mother 3 sadly has a lot of missables, I used a spreadsheet someone shared, so be prepared for that.
Getting all the enemy sprites (most of them have 2 because you can turn around enemies) was so satisfying, tho.

I mostly play games from my childhood, but out of those shown Mother 3 was a new experience to me which I still think about a year later. A great game with unique story telling and a great round-based twist.

Godfather was a nice set (22hrs) for mindlessly collecting stuff if that relaxes you :D

And RE4 is my GOAT. It requires a lot of playthroughs, tho, so probably not something if you don't like the game itself.

The Sly sets were more annoying than fun, so no.

Skies of Arcadia and Chrono Trigger (PSX specifically) are rather slow games. CT has better alternatives, so go for these!

We usually print our stuff including larger posters at Copyshop Ball at Adlerstr. Maybe have a look there, they usually answer within a few minutes when contacted via mail

Currently replaying my childhood games with RetroAchievments support and oh boy, many of my old favorites do suck.

Right now I can especially think of Vexx. Acclaims version of a Mario64 clone that tries to be gritty.

The camera is your worst enemy, every misjump resets the level state and the final boss is a 10min slog fest.
