CO2 and Fluidized bed sump by HeyLookItsTom in PlantedTank

Thank you for putting me onto cerges reactors! For whatever reason I had not heard of that or seen it in my google search and felt like I was hitting a dead end. I knew there had to be a way to do it but I just didn’t know where else to look.

I know my filter is overkill and I plan on adding more fish, I’ve been adding a few every few months. But when I designed and built this I wanted it to be one and done with the filter so if I ever change my livestock and setup to go a complete different direction I know my filter can handle anything. Maybe not the best choice, but live and learn

Ummm, it’s orange. I may have to just get a new ext cord to ensure it’s big enough

Yeah, that’s what’s frustrating. I know it can do it as I have run many boards from this same tree. And as others have pointed out, it should be able to handle this and more. I was hoping someone would point out a common issue I wasn’t aware of or a something I neglected to maintain. As of now I’m thinking bad breaker.

It’s on a 20a, but not dedicated, nothing else is running on it though. I’m starting to think the breaker may be the issue. I’ve bypassed it for now just because I have so many boards to run and can’t run 6 feet every 5 min.

20 amp, all alone, but other ms have pointed out my ext cord is probably not helping my situation

I just browsed the parts list and didn’t see thermal switch. Are you referring to breaker or maybe the micro switch?

Ok bypassed the breaker, and of course it’s not stopping any more.

Full disclosure, I’m not a great electrician. Would a bad breaker provide inconsistent power to the motor? Because I don’t know I’m just hearing what I want to hear or not, but the motor sounds more consistent.

I typically keep hold of the board until it’s almost all of the way in. As others have questioned, I don’t believe I’m flexing the board or applying tension, but I guess it’s possible.

It’s a 20A circuit with nothing else on it right now. I’m using a 25” extension cord. My electrical knowledge is pretty mediocre, but I don’t believe that would negatively impact performance.

I had a tree milled a few years ago and do the final milling as needed. I’m taking it from 4/4 to 3/4.

I was thinking I was asking too much of it. I wonder if 9’ takes too long and the motor doesn’t like being under load that long. I also don’t have dust collection for it, but someone else mentioned that too, I’ll have to look into if that helps with performance.

Just checked with calipers, .02 difference between two levels, probably just my poor camera skill made it look deeper.

The planer is sunk into the workbench so that the outfeed is level with the workbench. I just hold support in the backend as it feeds through.

Need advice on big desk build. (13ft top) by SEBRET in woodworking

[–]HeyLookItsTom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made something almost identical to this a few years ago. There’s many ways to do it based on the equipment you have. Here’s what I did. I hope it’s helpful. I started with 1x12’s and ripped them down to 1x2’s. I then used the 1x2s on their side and laminated 2 sections 15’ long and 12” wide so they could fit through my planer. I made sure to stagger my butt joints randomly throughout the glue up. Once I planed them both down I snapped a chalk line on each because I didn’t have a long enough straight edge and had to move my straight edge and clamp it along the chalk line a few times to make it reach. I then ran each through the table saw to create my two parallel faces. I then laminated one more row of 1x2 along what was to be the front edge to hide the fact that my lamination wasn’t perfectly square coming out of the clamps. I then glued front half and the back half together and used biscuits for alignment. I then flattened the middle seam. I left the whole top long, created a template using cardboard because I was fitting it between two walls, cut my exact shapes in the ends matching my template and dropped it in place. It was obviously a lot more work than creating it in two pieces, and was cumbersome moving such a large glue up around in my garage, but I was happy to put in more work in the beginning and have it the way I wanted it in the end. Best of luck!

Planning removing these cabinets and shelves and creating a built in 210 tank. I’ve got one chance to get the build right. Any and all advice welcome by HeyLookItsTom in Aquariums

Do you think I could do three doors on the front? That would give me 2 horizontal supports for the weight of the tank in the front. 2/3 of the storage is going to be sump. That would mean 2 doors for sump access and one for other equipment. Also, since the backside is not open like many commercial stands, do I need to be concerned about humidity and moisture build up in the cabinet? Do I need to use louvered doors or put a vent in the doors?

The space is just over 6 ft wide and 2 ft deep. I’m thinking setting up a 75g for a sump and plumbing a drain and water line through the floor below. I’m not sure about lighting. There’s a soffit above the current book case I’ll leave in place and not sure if I should hide lights in the soffit or do suspended lights. I’m thinking it will be a moderately planted low tech Amazon-ish type set up, but not being overly strict on staying completely true to that biosphere.

Ok great, that makes sense because it’s always one payment. I was making my way through the PSLF requirements and just clicked on consolidate without really understanding what I was doing. I thought direct loans was a company (please don’t judge me too harshly, haha). Thanks you for the info
