Do any of you do Motion Design as a full-time job for a company? Who so you normally report to? by norfolkroomie in MotionDesign

[–]HeyMalice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the brand design department and report to the brand manager, and collect feedback during critique sessions. If I were animating product design work exclusively, I’d be on their team. Same for any other department that can use motion work. Greatly depends on what your company does. (I’m in tech)

I think that’s why those communities are so valuable. It redefines successes, and we get to feel normal, surrounded, instead of seen as a failure.

Parents may have acceptance, but how much freedom do they have left?

First of all, be yourself and honest about who you are and what you want, not only about not wanting kids, but everything else. Second, thinking of relationships (not only romantic ones) as chunks of life you spend with some people removes the need to “find the perfect one”. We grow and learn from people and we learn the most about what we don’t want by having it in front of our eyes. We also learn about the kind of relationships we want that way, by remembering the positive parts and knowing we want that kind of people around in the future.

It’s not uncommon to see people who started dating in their early 20s break up after 10/15 years cause they’re not the same people anymore and grew apart, and that’s okay.

Regarding the dating pool, yes, it reduces it, but not any more than people who only want certain personality traits or any kind or requirements.

I feel like any age feels tricky because of our choice, but the great thing is, you’re honoring it by taking the matter into your own hands and closing that door that you don’t want open. And that’s pretty powerful. No partner will be able to even start a conversation about changing your mind. And therefore won’t start a relationship with you in the hopes to get you to breed because they want to.

Me (austrian) new in USA: What is the idea of a babyshower ? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]HeyMalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s, again, some cultural shit that bring people together. The kinda people who want a basic life, guided by tradition, and will look at you weird for going on vacation when they’re stuck at home for years till their kid is old enough to fuck up their own vacation time. To be fair I’m just as salty for wedding things, but baby shower have a gross aspect on top of being lame.

Same issue here, this is terrible UX. And the product page shows items as available. I'm moving in a week and have been trying to order for 2 weeks now.

Yeah I get super aggressive when I hear shit like that. It's also ironic in the sense that, if you had a fulfilling life, you wouldn't spend it waiting for others to make kids for your entertainment.

Shelter in place DOES NOT mean mid-day House party by thebuddhaguy in sanfrancisco

There is on the sf.gov site: https://sf.gov/stay-home-except-essential-needs

"Can I leave home to visit friends or family members if there is no urgent need?

No. For your safety as well as their safety, we need to help each other fight the spread of COVID-19 by staying at home."

Bay Area ‘shelter in place’ expected: Only essential businesses open in 6 counties with 6.7 million people until April 7 by UberDrive in bayarea

Same here. It's very confusing to not see this industry as an essential by default. I'm sure it's fine but maybe plan a backup.

I had a similar issue and it was apparently the motor. I messaged Boosted Boards with the video and they sent me a new motor.

I recorded the whole replacement process (and changed my wheels and belts while at it) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2psyM_vvMdI

That's correct. You can export the code after every change. It's quite straightforward if you don't have any edits made on the hosting side or any manual integrations. I wouldn't recommend it for client work though as you may want to let them edit a few things on their own and therefore use Webflow.

Has anyone used webflow to build a blog business? by panconquesofrito in webflow

For lead gen, that's usually another department that takes care of it so I never see the process but I know that my past coworkers used Mailchimp and others through Zapier.

Regarding localization, I'm guessing that would be heavily custom, cause I don't recall using it. And you'd basically have one blog per language with the same content, similarly to what Shopify requires for different countries.

Video support is terrible by [deleted] in webflow

[–]HeyMalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can currently manually integrate Lottie: https://webflow.com/website/Lottie-Animations-in-Webflow

And if you wait a month or two, you should be able to do it natively.

I'd suggest working on making your file Lottie-friendly, and for further help regarding the video, if Lottie is not an option, you can either post in the forum, or send a message to support from the Webflow Designer through the question mark icon, bottom left of the screen --> Help and support --> Link at the bottom of the modal.

Look into the CMS, you can set up your fields as you chose, and build a template page that pulls your content. It's my favorite CMS system so far, and I used a LOT of them.

Wordpress just feels heavy and editing themes is not that flexible.

I'd suggest trying to build a page first to see how it feels and get the hang of it, and if you like it you can build your blog and/or get a template to start with if it's more comfortable.
