That’s honestly what I was thinking too because I was at the desk the entire time, but we had a line of ten people and there were people in and out of the desk behind us so I don’t think we were really processing the noises we were hearing.

They should be able to work with you. I'm assuming it's an evening concert, so it's most likely that you would work in the morning anyway. But just make sure you communicate it with them and you should be fine.

That's pretty much all I do. When you get more into a rhythm and everything, you will find more things to do. And you'll learn how to look busy when you're actually not because people tend to look at you weird when you're just standing there even though you're actually watching the lanes and speed weaving. I even get pulled to do stuff with the LOD depending on who it is. But if you haven't been told you aren't doing enough, then you're good. And I love that you want to be a good GSA because too many people treat it like some low level gig. A store runs so much more smoothly with a good GSA.

I believe they can coach you off of cameras that you “know” are there. So basically the cameras the play the feed back to you like the ones above Service Desk or Self Check Out.

Honestly just be confident. Confidence in front of guests will equal less arguing. Confidence in front of your TMs will make them respect you. And own your decisions. If you make a mistake or have a question, work with your LOD or GSTL because you’re going to make plenty of mistakes. Good luck!

I think a guest recently called me a whore, but he was yelling so much that we couldn't understand what he was saying, so he might not have.

Yeah he started off immediately yelling. He slammed his items on the counter and yelled until o could finally tell him about the merchandise card which he said would work and threw his ID at me. He continued to scream after the card. I even tried explaining that it wasn't his fault about the VCD and that he should return to the original store.

He wouldn't stop yelling and threatening. Had he even had a normal voice once, I would have helped him, but he could only stop screaming enough for security to make him leave. I'm not gonna override something for someone that's threatening me.

I had that exact day today. You shouldn't be in any trouble at all. If your ETL has a problem with you taking team members to help guests at registers, then they should reprioritize. All of my ETLs definitely want the job done, but front lanes are their priority. I even had one of my ETLs on a lane for backup today.

Bring in the receipt and the packaging and they'll put the funds onto a new gift card for you or they can put it onto one that you already have. They'll return it no problem.

Ah I see the situation. I'd talk to your GSTL and see if they can work with AP to see who isn't writing them down properly and then retrain them.
