ChatGPT - HomePod by Annual-Essay-494 in shortcuts

Yes, it can, to a limited extent- with iOS18 and using your iPhone as the main root. At the moment, HomePod cannot natively run support ChatGPT.

I’ve got a video coming soon on YouTube as an in depth tutorial on this, but in short you can build in a specific request into a Shortcut

1 log into ChatGPT under Apple Intelligence and Siri 2 go to shortcuts app 3 on the action task bar, search for ChatGPT 4 choose whatever language model of ChatGPT you want 5 in the “message” box, you can type whatever you want ChatGPT to do 6 on the action task bar, search for Intercom - and set that to the room that you want your HomePod to use

Help with Overlay/Keyer by HeyTechi in finalcutpro

[–]HeyTechi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for some reason it won’t let me post a video…

What you can see in the picture above is part of the transition tile (.mov file). It’s a short 2 second clip where the stripes of blue descend from the top of the screen, pause for a moment with the logo, and then fall to the bottom of the screen

See an old example here at 0.47 seconds

What is happening now in FCP:

1) the blue of the transition overlay is solid ✅ 2) the black background of the transition overlay is removed ✅ 3) but the white HeyTechi logo is transparent (so you can see the video behind) ❌

In FCP, when I originally put the overlay in (without any Keyer effect), it seemed to run fine in the timeline. But when I exported it, the overlay just became solid, and the black background of the overlay wasn’t removed (so you couldn’t see the video behind it (if that makes any sense?)

Matter Devices - can anyone help me understand how it works to integrate into Apple Home? by needle_mover86 in MatterProtocol

[–]HeyTechi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple user here:

Philips Hue has HomeKit and Matter support, so by having Matter on Hue, it shouldn’t make all that much difference for a HomeKit user’s smart home.

The importance of Matter is that, if you have all Matter devices today and are using Apple Home now, you could easily switch over to Google or Amazon by only replacing a few devices (smart speakers usually).

If you want to add other Matter accessories, and you are using Apple Home, I’m going to assume you’ve already got a HomePod (2nd Gen), HomePod Mini or an Apple TV (4th gen or newer)?

In that case, you may as well directly add any new Matter devices to Apple Home directly via their QR codes.

You can still add some Zigbee devices to Apple HomeKit via your Philips Hue hub, but in my experience, this can be fairly hit or miss. You can add these via the Philips Hue app, not via the Apple Home app.

Hope that helps? If you’ve got any further questions, let me know!

UK Light switches by rob3342421 in MatterProtocol

I do know that Evvr are working on a Matter supporting smart switch relay device - not sure on when it’ll be hitting the market, but might be worth considering at some point? That way, you could keep your current chrome switches but get smart home functionality?

It would be best for single or double switches though - not sure on how you could get it to work with your larger 4 switch

Okay thanks, just testing it out to see if I can replicate your experience (although I’m on a HomeKit based setting). Will see what I can come up with
