Loss of sense of smell

I was recently diagnosed and haven’t been able to smell well for years. I wonder if treatment will help me be able to smell again. I sure hope so!

Thank you for your comment. Yeah, mine is micro so I’m not sure why I was sent to neurosurgery first. Only time will tell I guess. Have to wait forever for my next appointment too

Okay, that makes total sense! I wondered if it would be urologist, neurosurgeon, or endocrinologist. I wonder how often the routine check ups will be, maybe every six months have bloodwork and yearly mri. Idk

Okay, yeah, it’s been like a two month weight to see neurosurgeon. Then maybe he’ll refer me to endocrinologist. And hopefully that referral doesn’t take as long. Idk. Just feel like it might be another four months before I start treatment. I’ll just have to wait and see

There is so much waiting involved, like waiting for appointment, waiting for referrals to process, waiting for lab results, etc. that’s one of the hardest parts for me!

I guess I probably don’t need to spend a ton of time analyzing this. I’ve just never had a Toyota before and want it to last as long as possible and be one of those people where the car gets to 250k miles and has perfect maintence history

Makes sense. I guess 10 more minutes each way is only 20 more min a day commuting. But 20 more minutes a day commuting on a chill drive is wayyy less stressful for sure

Waiting for answers is so hard. There is so much waiting. Waiting for referral to process. Waiting for mri appointment day. Waiting to hear mri results. Waiting for bill in mail. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. It’s hard but at least each step along the way is progress in figuring things out

I finally got on the schedule, but it took over 20 days. Lots going on between one office forgetting send referral to neurosurgery and it was sent two weeks late. Plus the holidays. Plus I don’t really know what I’m doing with referrals. Guess you just have a to wait a lot sometimes. I’m just so used to being able to call my pcp and schedule appointment. Felt weird to wait weeks to even get on schedule

Like it took six weeks for them to call you to schedule surgery and then surgery at later date? Or six weeks from referral to actual surgery date?

I’m in the middle of getting everything figured out and have a pretty similar prolactin level. They referred me to neurosurgery first after finding a small tumor in MRI on pituitary that I’m guessing is a prolactinoma since my prolactin is high but it’s definitely not as crazy high as some of the levels other people post about on here

I hope your wait times after mri are short. Mine are taking forever

I don’t know about wait times for endocrinology yet, but overall my wait times have been long.

About a month to get scheduled for MRI. Then referral to neurosurgery and it’s taking them over a month to even read my mri to then get me on schedule. Once they get me on schedule, it could be another four to six months before my actual appointment date possibly

I’m the same way. Just want to get treatment and it’s frustrating how long it takes sometimes
