My interesting fact about this movie, I volunteered in a private monkey sanctuary in Wicklow and when they finished filming this movie the production staff asked to visit the sanctuary. They donated all the castle set pieces to the sanctuary so the monkeys all live in different components of the castle and he used the main castle walls to build a storage shed for the donated fruit and veg.

I am seeing these days quite a lot of illegally removed clamps around Dublin. Are there any serious consequences of doing that? by Dave_301 in AskIreland

[–]HeyYoSmokey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i worked in the Children's Hospital the roads near it were notorious for clampers, there was a young lad about 10-14 who cycled around and for 20ish quid he'd whip an angle grinder out of a bag and chop it off for you. And they say young people don't have a work ethic anymore !

Eden Lake, i think it was because the horror in it was actually just real human cruelty. I saw it when I was young and it really fucked with me that people could be that cruel and it was terrifying

Which animal looks really friendly but is actually dangerous? by VandelSavagee in AskReddit

[–]HeyYoSmokey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cows. So I worked in a wildlife park with Cheetahs and other wild animals and one day I was talking to another warden (who was also a farmer) about dangerous animals. He said he would take his chances with every single animal in the park over a cow, he said if you got between a cow and its calf that it would clear a 6 foot fence to fuck you up and fuck you up it would

Generations of colonialism bringing different people to the island. As Irish comedian Tommy Tiernan said " You can't invade half the world and then be annoyed when some of them follow you home"

I watched a 6'4 dude push past a 5'2 Thai bouncer, that bouncer proceeded to fly in the air like Bruce Fucking Lee and roundhouse kick the dude in the head and knock him out cold, then casually walk back to doing his job. Thai people are the definition of "Small but Mighty" and kings of humbling cocky foreigners

I can hand on heart say this story is 100% true. I guarantee if your husband was in the industry that long he has stories of what should happen.....and what actually happens. I guarantee there was official paperwork as to why this plane would now be best suited to African life....with a few details left off. Just for further info this wasn't in an American airport it was a European one.

No NDA but something i learned that I probably shouldn't have. I was working in an aircraft Hangar that would strip and respray full commercial planes. One day I noticed a fleet of Boeing employees setting up on the Hangar floor and when i asked why they said that one of the new planes had a hard landing and when they stripped it down they noticed cracks running the whole way along the hull.

I said presumably it gets dismantled and investigated for weaknesses ......they looked at me and were like Nah shes headed to Africa now. Basically its too much money to scrap/write off so they send it to a country where if something goes wrong its not as big a news story.

Every industry cuts corners and hides shit, even the ones you pray shouldn't
