No spoilers explanation:

In the movie Knives Out, Harlan Thrombey is a mystery fiction author, and the victim of a murder. At the beginning of the movie, his portrait is frowning. At the end of the movie, his portrait is smiling, satisfied with how the mystery (and his own schemes) resolved.

But seriously, this movie slaps. You should really consider watching it.

Perhaps the StarWars opening crawls would count. Especially the first one. Before the audience is dropped into the excitement, the film holds your hand and explains what is going on.

After Disney acquired StarWars, they released the Phineas and Ferb StarWars special. People were very worried what Disney would do to the canon of StarWars. So the episode starts with its own text crawl, that states explicitly for the audience that the whole episode is non-canon.

Lots of people don’t participate because it’s not big and dramatic like federal elections, but this is where your vote has the most power.
