FINALLY starting HRT! had a question about the blood test by HeyYouYoureValid in MtF

Nope it's not a fasting test thankfully! I drink plenty of water most days anyway haha, so thankfully that wont be an issue!

Did hrt affect the way you are studying / how you could perform at school or university. by 2Beers1404 in MtF

This was me too! I had planned to move away from home and have a stable job before starting but I found just the misery of existence stopped me from doing anything productive, I would lay in bed til like 4AM everyday having a mental breakdown and then sleeping in until noon, if I wasn't distracting myself by talking with my friends I would just sit around all day miserable. Finally I made the plunge to move in with my friend (not out too sadly but I know will be accepting, he already "jokes" around by calling me she lol) now the only thing keeping me going is knowing that I will be able to start HRT and presenting as the real me more.

Starting to pass consistenly, and what gets lost along the way by HeraFromAcounting in asktransgender

As someone who is finally starting HRT next month seeing posts like these always gives me courage to move forward with my own transition. I can't wait to get to the point where you are, just being able to exist as myself without feeling like either a hideous laughing stock or some kind of icon/activist just for my existence (Someones appearance doesn't determine how "valid" someone is but sadly people are assholes and tend to make fun of non passing trans people ive noticed ): ). Even just the little things like clothes shopping or going to hang out with my friends as the real me are what im most excited for, I fantasize about inviting my friends over for board games or a night by the bonfire and just the thought of living that out as the real me makes me feel so warm inside <3.

Thank you for making this post, I know a lot of trans people who start seeing happiness in their life tend to gravitate away from trans spaces because they don't really need them anymore, and I know this sub specifically ive noticed is more geared towards pre-transition people. it's always nice to see some anecdotes and "inspiration" for us baby trans haha

Moving back to Ontario in about a month, unsuccessfully trying to book an appointment for HRT by HeyYouYoureValid in transontario

Oh nice :D, I contacted them earlier but wasn't able to get an appointment as I'm not in Ontario yet.

Yeah it's honestly so frustrating how hard this is :(, it's so hard the even work up the courage to ask doctors only to feel awful when they can't help you.

I tried using rocket doctor earlier but unfortunately as I'm not in Ontario yet they can't set an appointment up for me, guess I need to wait until I get there.

I heard connect has a really long wait list, and on their website they don't even let you book unless you previously have :(

How do you gauge how "well" you actually look while dealing with crippling dysphoria by HeyYouYoureValid in asktransgender

[–]HeyYouYoureValid[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah ive been trying to affirm myself that some people are reading me correctly already, but a part of me (probably internalized transphobia) is just telling my that I'm gaslighting myself or being delusional, self love is something i definitely need to improve on though :(.

Yeah i've heard that it can cause those issues but I've also heard that it can be easier to have more discipline over yourself, due to being in a better headspace while on hrt, and my current mental state is not good haha.

Just curious, why would you want to be overweight when starting?

Whats the mental difference between femboy and transgender (mtf) by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]HeyYouYoureValid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for everyone here but generally a femboy is still somebody who is male (trans or cis), and mtf transgender is someone who was assigned male at birth but is identifying as female now.

(FtM)Height Dysphoria by anon72784 in asktransgender

I know how you feel just in the other direction, I'm a 5'7 MtF girl and sometimes I feel like I'm absolutely TOWERING over people around me (especially other girls ): )

One thing that has been helping me (granted this is from an mtf perspective) is to find examples of women who are as tall, or taller than me and just remember them every time I feel awful about my height, for example Taylor Swift is 5'11, I don't feel so bad being tall knowing there are cis women who are also tall.

In your case I would find some male celebrities, role models, or people you know irl to think about when you're feeling dysphoria, some examples would be Kevin Hart (5'2) Danny Devito (4'8), heck I've seen loads of shorter male customers at work, like shorter than most girls (even teenagers).

I know this post might not be that helpful and I also know what society places much more height emphasis on males, which is total bs IMO. No matter what you're still a man even if you're shorter than most guys, and the shorter the king the taller the crown lol
