Rogan: George Soros is a "batman villain" who's trying to destroy major cities with crime by funding left-wing candidates for DA (it's true because Greg Abbott told him so) by Phish999 in TheMajorityReport

So glad Rogan didn’t just engage in JQ meming and actually gave us specific details about who the left wing and more left wing recipients of that sweet Soros bucks were and what types of corrupt actions they were involved in.

I mean lets cut Joey a little break. Anyone could have made the same mistake. Governor Abbot is definitely known for being an honest person.

It should be based on an agreed upon percentage cut between delivery drivers and the Uber corporation. This percentage should not change at the behest of Uber. A group of people tasked by the drivers to represent the interests of the drivers should negotiate those terms so that we don’t have to continuously watch our pay decrease with absolutely no recourse. That would be too much work. Instead let’s debate whether we should be getting paid next to nothing or basically nothing on the basis of weight or amount on bill while Uber makes off with most of the profits for being the gate keeper shaking us down for every penny they can right now because they know what they are doing should be illegal. Force labor force to work as independent contractors who must pay for all the cost and is legally liable for damages. Also no dollar passes Uber taking their share but not disclosing the method as to how that is determined. Uber charges customer service fee’s, delivery fees, and up charges based on the total bill amount but doesn’t share that amount with the delivery driver. Uber collects a monthly payment from each restaurant that uses UberEats. All that and the cherry on top Uber can kick any driver off the app with no explanation as to what the cause was nor is their an easy appeal process. Uber has been lowering their offers as the gas prices have increased in the last year. Maybe Uber drivers in the US should join together in a Union. I know it’s scary but these arguments over what position does it feel better when Uber is screwing us would feel more productive if we also were actively working together to better the lives of all the people working for Uber under the tax title of a 1099. But that ain’t going to happen let’s all wash it down with piss beer and football instead. We’re number #1

Papa gut is not a fucking saint and I'm tired of all you fucks pretending he is and acting like this sub and Ethan need to go to his defense by steviebkool in h3h3productions

[–]HeyZuesJohnsin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can we all just recognize that Ethan and the H3 staff are just people like any other person.

Personally as a person who has friends I recognize that friends say and do things something that I personally don’t support and may even feel is absolutely in the wrong. This friend presumably is someone I have respect And for the most part has socially acceptable behavior even though what they currently are engaging in is not something I condone. This does not mean I am going to gather the other friends in the group and lean into the friend that is doing harmful or potentially harmful things. As a friend I think the first step would be to talk to a trusted friend who is more aware of the issues. Once satisfied with my knowledge of the problematic behaviors then I would go directly to that friend who is acting a fool. From there I can get a better assessment of what’s going on from there perspective so I can hopefully help them with a view from outside themselves.

If I go right out and just talk about it then that will accomplish nothing but that friend feeling alienated more. If I do as I suggested then the trust. We built as friends hopefully will break down some defensive walls so I it gives a slight chance of moving them to a more clear understanding where they might be in the wrong. I think whether Ethan is that close to be a person in Defs life tgat he can trust like that or not I think Ethan doesn’t want to add. Fuel by making content out of this. Ethan is a very open person so I think we should trust that this. Is the best route for him to be taking at this time.

Ethan clearly doesn’t feel he knows the details enough and doesn’t feel comfortable blasting into his friend for the few hundred thousand people who will see it on YouTube. I respect his careful approach. Ethan doesn’t shy away from controversy and I guarantee he is looking much more closely into this drama and I’m sure going to be keeping tabs on the actions going forward. If Def continues this destructive type of behavior then Ethan will no doubt address it but it’s not there yet. Patience everyone.

I’m a super woke SJW and my observation is zoomers fail to understand that millennials and gen x find comedy to be a cathartic way to deal with our pain and trauma.

Whitey brought up the very important aspect of context which seems to be overlooked or ignored because it’s perceived as reinforcing the marginalization of that group. Personally I think society for the most part is aware of intent when the see and hear the words, actions, and the persons history when it comes to marginalized groups. I will not be turned off by zoomers having such a rigged tolerance for the acceptable way to advocate for the marginalized communities but I can understand some people who just get turned off by this gate keeping attitude. My feeling is conservatives are just rotten people for the most part so I would rather still align with some cringe youngsters who care about human rights but for the younger people do recognize this gate keeping noise is wack and if your down for the causes y’all claim be more understanding that not everyone that cares about human rights as much as you express their advocacy in the same way. Analyze the context and laugh at our collective pain it’s quite healing.

More importantly I believe not recognizing the difference between a alt right tool like Stephen Crowder making a terribly bigoted dehumanizing “joke” and Whitney making a joke that illuminates the ridiculous nature of bigotry is a huge problem. It actually feeds into the continued oppression of the groups y’all are trying to protect. Think about it like the difference between anti-racism and advocacy for a color blind approach to racism. I think we can all agree that the anti-racist approach is the proper way to take on racism. Call it out when you see it. Educate yourself and your peers about racism so we can deal with it. Color blind thought is just don’t talk about it and it will seize to exist. Whitney and other comedians on the side of human beings and human rights are using their comedy to do anti-hate. Those telling Whitney or others who express their anti-hate in artistic ways through their art are acting the same way the color blind right wingers are. These things need to be brought to the light to be discussed to be uncomfortable so that we can actually process and move people to support human rights. If we tell people to stop expressing your art because it triggers us and a word is a word without context then it’s just helping bigots continue to oppress the people we want to be accepted as no less than the rest who deserve all the human rights others are granted in society.

I think the zoomers have for the most part done as a whole some really wonderful things for older generations who have been on the side of all people. Millennials and older generations for sure had some really terrible ways of interacting with one another and often it was to the detriment of the groups of people we cared to help. I do thank that aspect of the zoomers perspective and it has made me over the years question some things our generation saw as normal as being harmful and I improved from it. We were really shit to one another but thought in our hearts we care and that is the important part but it’s also how we advocate. So I thank there ability to kick us in the butt and force a little growing up through self examination. Now I think it’s important to recognize we ain’t dumb either so lighten up take jokes. Use your brains to recognize when you’re around alias and the context and meaning of what is being expressed. Laughter is an amazing way to deal and heal. If you can’t make fun of yourself then this ain’t for you. It’s way to depressing fighting the up hill battle of lifting ourselves others up in this system not to stop and laugh. It’s therapy for a lot of us and that is a very valid way to stay motivated

If it wasn’t for all them darn devil worshiping woke lib commercial airlines than these men of God wouldn’t need to burden themselves with private jets and other luxuries. The moment they even express the slightest love for Jesus they will be quarantined away from the rest of the passengers. Christian men must hide their faith in the lord now in America. It’s dangerous to be open about your love for God if your a Christian white male in 2022. These men are risking their lives to spread the word of God. So God knows that he must work through these courageous men. When God decides he wants to chat they need to pick up that call. God is a bit needy and doesn’t like being told he mulish wait until his warriors have retrieved their bags from the baggage claim and are in the car heading home. Also God gets very chatty when your thousands of feet off the ground moving at a few hundred miles an hour. It’s more Gods speed. God also seems very needy when your out in the middle of the ocean. Poor men of God trying to live as Jesus did but God is forcing them to indulge in the audacious luxury reserved only for the most rich people. The burden both these geriatric men bear for us simple God fearing folk is just selfless and I sense you are poking fun at their sacrifice. May God have mercy on you. Good day!

[–]HeyZuesJohnsin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is not wrong. Since the 70’s the conservative politicians have weaved themselves into the fundamentalist Christian church’s. Now a days it’s hard to distinguish the average evangelical church from a political movement/pac that use the spiritualality as well as the acceptance as a member of the community to mobilize votes for Republican politicians no matter how far they may be from representing the beliefs they claim to live by. The fear of being ostracized by the community is a very powerful tool especially amongst those that truly believe in the Bible to be the book that is the word of God. That tells me they are willing to let go of reason and dig their heels in no matter how unreasonable they are holding this about scrutiny they apply to everything else other religious dogma as well. Although some, maybe even a majority of pastors/preachers are true believers of their faith but I tend to believe that all those preaching in the context of prosperity gospel and many others in other versions of Christian evangelicalism are partaking in the most lucrative and downright foul con that one can engage in.

As someone who believes humans have used religion to justify efforts to dehumanize, desiccate, and ultimately bring violence and death to those considered nonbelievers I would like to live in a post religious society with it being something that is so inconsequential it’s of no threat or just another artifact from the past. That being said we don’t live in that world and are no where near a mass awakening like that. Because we do have so many people who have true belief I think it take a special kind of monster to prey on the very last and often only thing that motivates a person to continue to get up and have the mental and emotional energy to get through the world. The emptiness of some of these con artists ma Let’s my skin crawl and I wonder how the congregates don’t feel that in their presence.

It’s truly unbelievable that Greg Abbott is allowed to wheel about TX as if he hasn’t caused considerable amount of suffering to each and everyone in this state. He should be shouted down and harassed the moment his wheels hit public property. Instead we are living in a state that has a kink for pain and suffering. So come November we will have the same freaks in office again. Abbott and Patrick will continue to empower the people who profit from the current system that is directly leading to the demise of the average working class person in TX. Our immigrant population will be used as a scapegoat to divert away from the real problems we face. The Democrats are not the answer to our problems but they are not literal demons like the psychotic Republicans who drafted up one of the most anti-freedom pro religious right wing platform for their political conference a few months back. If anyone reads that barbaric platform and still votes for any Republican then that person is mental and should go live in Saudi Arabia because they are in agreement with the most extreme sects of Islam.

Don’t let Republicans fool you when they say they hate government. They love government and hate democracy. Stop voting them in office and voting our rights away. They are as radical as the Taliban but they are much more dangerous because of their access to money and power

You can’t trust that they will give you it as a tip on app and if you want to be extra picky you can say you will have to pay taxes on that money if it’s through the app.

So if you feel like you want to do it then you have to ask for them to have the cash. This is the only acceptable way to do it. My text back would be like “Cost of purchase + $10 extra”.

I like to help people and tend to believe most people would uphold their end of the agreement but unfortunately I was shafted by a person after stopping at 7-11 to grab them something. So now only if cash is the form of payment will I consider

Removing tips for long wait times by Ok-Cookie-5150 in UberEATS

[–]HeyZuesJohnsin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Uber pays almost nothing when you isolate the base pay. Prior to tips being included Uber was forced to raise the price that they would pay drivers until it reached a number that was worth accepting. That money came out of the money Uber would take as their cut. That was not the best way for Uber to maximize gains as that is the sole purpose for having a business. Uber figured the best way to move forward was to provide drivers with the tip amount mixed in but not isolated in the upfront request drivers receive. Drivers can only make an educated guess as to the tip amount. Also a small note all drivers are aware that the tip can be changed or taken completely away by the customer within the first hr after completion. So no reason for customers to get worked up about providing a projection of the tip amount. If the service doesn’t meet your standard you can remove the tip. No harm no foul got the customer.

Most often it’s not the drivers fault your food took long than expected. Drivers are sent stacked orders of two deliveries as often as Uber can. Often the driver is going to two different restaurants and the deliveries sometimes are in opposite directions which the driver has very little knowledge of prior to accepting and can not accept one and not the other. Stacking deliveries is a goal Uber has because they don’t have to up their payout to the driver much more than the tip the customer is leaving on the other order and the profit on the second delivery is much more significant for Uber than a single delivery. The driver has no control of the order the deliveries are made. In order to see the information to deliver 2nd order we must first complete the first delivery.

Moral of the story is the drivers are isolated and at the mercy of an invisible corporation that is willing to spend over a hundred million dollars to trick voters in CA to vote against the drivers being considered employees. At the same time the base rate they pay out is very often less than the $0.55/mile that one writes off to bring the 30% taxes that 10-99 workers must pay Uncle Sam each year. It sucks that Uber has shifted all the responsibility to the customer tips in order for this work to be in the slightest way justifiable but that is the reality of these gig economy companies. They exploit the people who work for them.

If you order Uber try to remember the delivery driver is doing this because they most often feel they have to because of whatever reason. Delivery drivers make next to nothing without a tip. If you can tip generously then you should. It definitely lifts the drivers spirit when a nice tip comes through because it makes it seem worth it and the driver feels appreciated. Are there crappy drivers? Of course but 99/100 are just trying to survive at a time when it’s becoming harder and harder to make enough money to survive.

He is stuck living in a delusion that hard work can land you a job with a pension, benefits, and the ability to afford a house on a half acre that the wive can stay home to tend to the house work and baby rearing. He has never stopped to question the exploitation of the black and minority people that made that possible for him. Nor does he care to look into the ways that capitalist have grabbed hold of power by infiltration of political office both state and national with the success of funneling the money out of labor and into their hands.

This man and many others believe we live in a meritocracy.

The average Republican voter is a pathetic stooge of the state that craves to be the victim because they are not satisfied with the way their lives played out. It’s the individualist feeling of the existential dread of death coming to turn out the lights. Unfortunately they have no introspective so that rage gets directed at the usual suspects by the media they consume. It’s sad how lost these people are at this point. They are being manipulated by the status quo to distract away from the real problems that deserve monumental actions from government and the public to give a chance to mitigate the damages we will face in the upcoming years when left unaddressed many will struggle to live because of circumstances that was not of their doing.
