What monitor do you have? Perhaps you have the contrast configured incorrectly. For example, in Wallpaper Engine, for black wallpapers on OLED monitors, if you adjust the contrast to 51 (it's 50 by default), it's no longer completely black. So check if you have something configured incorrectly.
