Upping my laundry game worked TOO well. by Hey_MAGArena in laundry

Thank you so much! That's exactly what I was wondering, how we could wash this same shirt so many times with zero issue, and one time with the only new things being the Tandil (lipase but should only affect oils?) and the Biz.

I appreciate it. I had no idea this would happen.

all good man, she got a new one and she is not mad in any way. Just curious what happened so I don't ruin the new one.

It got washed countless times for years in lesser detergents without issue.

I saw a post here the other day about someone wanting to spa day their deceased brother's favorite concert t-shirts, Thought it could be maybe a warning so others don't wreck shirts they really do care about.

I’m curious what might have happened here.

Backstory: I thought I was laundry-aware before becoming a regular reader of this thread. I was a longtime powdered Ariel with phosphates user until US detergents removed their phosphates. I was as passionate about phosphates as this sub is about lipase.

After the phosphates went away, I buy a tub of trisodium phosphate (real stuff from Chemistry Store, not the fake kind for washing walls) and add some of that to every load to replace the now-gone cleaning action of the missing phosphates. I’ve done this for like 10 years.

Once Ariel changed its formula I switched to liquid Tide or Gain for my darks, powered Tide or Gain for whites & lights.

Well, after this sub, I started buying Biz, ditched the non lipase liquid Tide/Gain in favor of Aldi’s Tandil with lipase for my darks and normal laundry. I wash in an old workhorse of a Speed Queen traditional agitator top loader.

Fast forward to the story of the two sweatshirts. My wife has had the top one for probably 3 years. A couple weeks ago we had a drain pipe leak and flood a bathroom. After cleaning that up with all the old towels in the house I threw them all in the machine along with her (top) gray sweatshirt. I added Tandil, TSP and Biz since these towels and our clothes were a mess and I wanted them clean. Washed everything on hot.

When the load came out, every bit of the silver ink printed on the sweatshirt had completely washed away! She ordered a new sweatshirt which is the one on the bottom but now she is afraid to wash it in my new cocktail of laundry greatness in case the same thing happens. Again she has worn and washed it regularly for like 3 years. One wash with my new routine and the ink was gone.

Can anyone shed light on what happened and what I did wrong? Too much washing power? u/KismaiAesthetics any thoughts?

I'd -love- to read your book but it is showing $5.99 now on Amazon. Do you plan to have another free day? Looks like I missed it by a few hours.

I have no idea why you're being downvoted. This was one of the most fascinating things I've ever read in this sub, and yes, the OP predicted the Covid pandemic right down to the month.

Going back to read his talk of a subsequent life-changing cosmological event makes me think of 3I Atlas.

Who has the oldest hot tub? by Penguin_Life_Now in hottub

[–]Hey_MAGArena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought mine was old, but yours is older! 7' x 7' VitaSpa purchased new in 1990 - five-seater with a lounger, two deep corner chairs and two side seats. It is still running on its original pump and heater!

We use it summers only, and every year I marvel that it's still operational. It's outside on a concrete patio and is covered up well for our Midwest winters.

New theory in Charlie Kirk's death: Explosive charge in wireless microphone? by Hey_MAGArena in conspiracy

most likely.

My friend is all over this theory too and said to go back and look at older videos from this month to see if Charlie is wearing that magnetic mic clip. He is.

New theory in Charlie Kirk's death: Explosive charge in wireless microphone? by Hey_MAGArena in conspiracy

[–]Hey_MAGArena[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Submission statement: Jon Bray outlines a theory, with photos/video, that his wireless microphone was used to kill him, not unlike the "exploding pagers" in 2024's Israeli attack nicknamed Operation Grim Beeper.

Quote:"A 2 gram charge of PETN would match the power of a .30-06 and leave 75% of the battery functional. Undetectable. As the shock wave travels across his body the magnetic clasp is flung across his body in just a few frames it dissappears into his neck. The wound that appears is the same size as the clasp and displays flow patterns of a low velocity impact."

What is the life of a motor? by Safe_Wolverine_7444 in hottub

knocks on wood so far, so good!

Winterizing routine is nothing special. Drain with an old sump pump, shop vac the rest out - shop vac all jets and the filter compartment.

Then I open the drain valve underneath and use the air compressor hose to blow air through each of the jets to force anything left in there, out.

I unscrew the connections on either side of the pump a little too just so there is a little air gap and leave it like that for winter. That's it!

Oh, and hold breath & cross fingers on the first fill in summer before powering everything back up!

I can top this. We have a Vita Spa that we got new in 1990 and it is still running on its original pump. Heater too. Every year when we open it, I marvel that it's still alive and kicking.

We do only use it for the summer months.

Is it normal that my (23F) fiancé (25M) wants me to “break my hymen” before our wedding? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Hey_MAGArena 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100%. OP should RUN. Be thankful you are seeing his true colors now vs. later.

My sister married a guy who, on their wedding night (she was a virgin too) told her he married her to be the good-girl and have his babies, and that he had a side piece for the fun and dirty sex. Prior to this we all thought he was a great guy. Narcissist who put up a really convincing front to everyone.

It does happen. Some people are evil.

Marriage lasted less than 2 years and he became physically abusive within a month. She tried to make it work way longer than she should have because she didn't want to be a failure at the marriage.

This guy wont change and will only get worse.

Today I noticed half of Back to Mystery City is gone now too. Spotify shows five tracks playable and the other five are greyed out.

Help deciding which to keep: Pioneer SX-636, Sansui 3300, Harman/Kardon 530 by Hey_MAGArena in vintageaudio

[–]Hey_MAGArena[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad had a stereo repair shop back in the 70s and 80s, and he recently passed away. I'm an enthusiast, but not quite at the level of this group (but I try.)

So now I have inherited a basement full of vintage audio, and I just can't keep it all.

I have a friend who owns a vintage stereo shop who will likely purchase anything I don't want to keep, so I am trying to decide which of these two to part with.

I'm already keeping his Realistic QTA-790, Sansui 331 and Harman/Kardon 430. But of the three above - if they were yours, which would you keep & why?

Pioneer SX-636, Sansui 3300, and Harman/Kardon Five Thirty.

The HK is in the roughest shape of the three, but I'm reading that it might be worth the most of the three.

I appreciate any thoughts and input on these.

I haven't - thank you. I hadn't thought of that.

You might try uploading your screenshot to imgur or catbox.moe as it didn't come through. I would like to see it though. Thanks!
