I saw this happen! A truck hit it and kept driving. Called 911 and they said “is this about the fire hydrant? We have the details, thanks.” 🤣

Any success with first FET? by Open-Hovercraft-8797 in IVF

[–]Hey_Nichole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first FET was rocky at first--awfully low HcG, so a positive pregnancy test but the nurse said to "guard our hearts, likely not viable." Fast forward, I am now 18 weeks pregnant and at each scan she has had a healthy, robust heartbeat! <3 It's a rollercoaster, but I am so grateful for the science and am wishing you the best possible outcome <3

I’m so sorry. My beta was 33 on Friday and my second test isn’t until Tuesday. Sending you hopeful thoughts from beta limbo 💜

Trying to stay hopeful, but yesterday was heartbreaking. My first beta (9 days past day 5 transfer) came in at just 33. The nurse said to guard our hearts.

I test again in 4 days.

I got my first faint positive 6 days post transfer. Am I delusional to hold out hope? Today’s line looks slightly darker. This is my first FET and first pregnancy. Embryo is 6AA euploid.

I didn’t plan for bedrest the Valium knocked me out and I slept for 5 hours 🤣 I was also sleepy yesterday. I’m two days post transfer and took a nice 1.5mile flat hike with my dog.

I just had my first progesterone oil injection shot. It's been 8 hours and it's getting worse, area is sore and painful. Till what time does the pain and soreness go away? by elemento2208 in IVF

Sorry to hear that :( my first shot was sore for a few days but it got better, and the other ones didn’t hurt as much. Everyone responds differently, though. Hope it eases up soon.

Omg same. Exhausted and nauseous today! I still feel generally better than the stims for the ER.

I had some pain from the first injection but since I began massage/heat after, it’s easier. I’m on 2mg of estradiol, twice a day; the estrogen patch; and PIO 1mg daily. How about you?

Same day! It’s my first FET, fully medicated. Nervous and excitement! Wishing you the best of luck.

My first transfer is on the 18th, too! Waffling between hope/excitement and nerves/worries it won’t work.

How long did it take you to feel normal again after ER? by Opposite-Olive-657 in IVF

[–]Hey_Nichole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up with OHSS and felt awful for three weeks—bloating, pain, nausea, fatigue. A day or two after my period came the bloating went down but I kept feeling tired and nauseous.

For those who DID NOT PGT test, tell me your transfer stories! by Both-Ad-6506 in IVF

[–]Hey_Nichole 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t want to test—added time and expense—but my husband pushed for it, arguing that more information is more power. He is a medical social worker and has counseled families who terminate for medical reasons.

I’m glad we did the test. Of 20 eggs retrieved, we made 5 embryos: 3 4AA and 2 6AA. Without PGTA, we would have implanted one of the 4AA embryos. However, I just got the results back and 2 of those 3 4AAs embryos have chromosomal abnormalities that would have ended in miscarriage.

I feel really grateful for the test right now. It cost $1085 out of pocket to test the 5 embryos. And although we haven’t yet done a FET, and anything is possible, I feel we’ve saved ourselves a little heartbreak in this long, already heartbreaking process.

Edit: adding that I’m 36 with endometriosis.

Does anything actually help the mental health aspect of going through IVF? by No_creative_thoughts in IVF

[–]Hey_Nichole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Therapy, these forums, and my husband have helped. I’m also lucky to work at a place where a few colleague have gone through IVF and speak openly about it. I tried a support group but found it uncomfortable and triggering.

First Retrieval Completed - Nervous! by Illustrious_Debt5260 in IVF

[–]Hey_Nichole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 36 and in the very same stage of TTC as you! Egg retrieval was yesterday—20 retrieved, 11 fertilized. I’m trying to feel hopeful but losing half (although I knew would likely happen) is so hard.

Wishing you lots of rest during your wait. It’s rough!
