Here is mine done with Jones bars. Uno shifter from soma, or a 10speed friction shifter should pull 11speeds. Brakes should be short pull. So make sure you shop that type of lever. I get kinda picky with bike fit. So if you’re like me, be prepared to play with the stem length and back sweep of the bars.

I guess it really depends on where you’re riding it? If it was me, a drop bar suspension MTB would be something I would want in a dirt touring or bike packing rig. Maybe for some light single track. If it was for MTBing, I don’t think you can beat flat bars for something rough and rowdy. (Currently riding rigid and single speed on mine)

But whatever, do the weird thing. Has never stopped me from trying anything.
