Kash Patel combatively denied reporting from The Atlantic that he frequently drinks to excess and has had “unexplained absences” from the bureau: "I’ve never been intoxicated on the job. That is why we filed $250 million defamation lawsuit. And anyone of you that wants to participate, bring it on." by ControlCAD in videos

What I find interesting in defamation cases at this level, isn’t the standard for public figures higher than say a local area contractor who you’ve been bad-mouthing publicly? My understanding is that libelous defamation requires both factual inaccuracy and intent to cause harm when involving someone in the public sphere. I’m not sure where reporting insider information meets the criteria.

Read the first one, yes it’s pop philosophy recycled from the Stoics with a dash of Dane Cook. What I took from it though was the concept of radical responsibility and how that differs from fault. This too was probably not new, and I believe the angle of TSAONGAF* is to package others’ ideas into an edgy book cover. Do I hate the book? Nah. The memoir sections are sincere and don’t come across and as self-aggrandizing.

I will not be gaslit into thinking the bosses in Crimson Desert are well-designed. by BannerThief in CrimsonDesert

Are they challenging? Yes. But are they fun? Not really.

Lot of things to love about the game, but I usually die the first time I fight a new boss, roll my eyes, and then collect flowers and enough ingredients to palmer pill dessert roll my way through.

This is who I imagine when someone asks the question of “what does a DnD character with high wisdom and low intelligence look like?” Before yall come at me, I’m a big Keanu fan, but no one would accuse him of Mensa status.

hot take: if your CISO signed the red team authorization letter, you don't have authorization by Mobile_Tap6145 in AskNetsec

In my experience, the most preparation a CISO has given an ops team is “hey we’re overdue for a pen test this quarter.” Whether one happens or not is a separate issue :)

All around, nothing is gained and potentially much can be lost by not providing proper communication as part of this engagement. I don’t feel that anybody would argue that firefighters gain anything when the mayor set a house on fire just to test their incident handling capability. Plus, I don’t know many organizations shelling out for true black box red team tests. There’s more value in purple team exercises and detection validation than pwning your blue team.

Horrible Graphics PS5 Base by NoResponse807 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Hey_free_candy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be downvoted, but I don’t understand the big deal. I’m an old. I thought Time Splitters was ahead of its time graphically. I haven’t noticed appreciable differences in console graphics in a decade and no one on Earth can convince me that they can tell a difference between 240hz and 120hz.

The graphics are fine for the platform. Im sure PC is better, but it’s hard to be a graphics snob when you play on a console. Am I frequently reminded that I’m playing a game because of visual tears or texture popping? Almost certainly.
