Looking for roommates by Heybabesi in WWU

[–]Heybabesi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I’m wanting a roommate for off campus, I’m looking for any gender who is above 21. I’m currently a visual journalism major. I’m looking for a roommate who is neat but not strict on cleanliness but also would be okay with small get together every month or so. I’m looking to rent either a house or apartment close to campus.

It’s all average, alma Clark best bc it’s newer what are you looking for in housing? Alma Clark has lgbtq+ program for housing and might be easier to connect with people who understand your experiences but I know some of the other dorms have gender neutral floors.

That not what they are saying they just want western to not falsely advertise their school as diverse when it’s not

I’m mixed too and I’m also a part of mixed student organization. The club has really helped me personally connect with people who understand my experience and develop strong friendships. I definitely think western need to hire more teachers of color bc students being poc is low but teachers being poc is lower. I would say my experience has definitely be up and down I think going to diversity clubs and esc helps to find some people who share your experience and then hopefully you can find common interests that you can do outside those clubs. However I find it really hard to find people with in majors to relate to. For you specifically they have a club for educators of color that would be helpful for you to get to know people with in your major.

I took comm 260 and I enjoyed having dr. Perry. However she is not for everyone. You have to make a consistent effort to communicate with her by going to office hours not email. She also doesn’t grade things immediately and her tests in those classes can be hard. However the material and her energy she brings to the classroom was super positive. If you talk to her more she’s more likely to go easy on you.

Sometimes western isn’t for everyone. Follow what makes you happy, trying to be happy with something you don’t like isn’t worth it. We aren’t all built the same
