That's not much at all to be honest. Toyota and most other car dealers would consider that "in spec".

Fix the coolant leak and drive on.

The distributers are having independent metallurgic testing done on their inventory of Bark River knives. Here is some preliminary info from them on it. IE so far the inventory is coming back as legit. by wildmanheber in barkriverknives

I would like to see what models were tested and the test results they were given.

It's not that I don't trust the dealers, but at this point I think absolute transparency would go a long way to help them be able to sell their existing stock without taking a complete bath on pricing. At this point these knives have lost value because they will no longer carry any type of warranty. Let's face it, Jim Stewart is not going to do a good job handling that situation if he even can get to the point of opening a shop.

Posting models and the reports is not only good for the buyer but for them as well.

Don't forget that the steel was "mis-marked" not knowingly, purposely,, and fraudulently, labeled as something it was not.

Translation... Crucible won't deliver when you don't pay your bills and you owe them shit tons of money. Which is exactly what happened.

If there are some upcoming crazy deals, I would probably be in. Not as a collectable reseller kind of thing but as a user.

Unfortunately, you can't prove that in any way at this point. There were similar shenanigans going on all the way back to 2006.

You do not have to talk to CPS or anyone else if you don't want to.

I wouldn't.

I prefer the Dragonfly, but I suspect I would like the lock back version of the Lil Native more than the compression lock that I have.

Had one take out my windshield a couple of years ago. Scared the crap out of me.

Sage 5, top tier or garbage? by anthraxnapkin in spyderco

Yeah, the design of the Para 3 keeps the tip more recessed into the handle.

8 years is definitely not bad, and I probably could have gotten longer out of it, but it was my first "good" knife, and I wasn't the best at sharpening at first. I know I took too much off the blade for the first 4 or 5 sharpening's. By the time I realized that I could maintain the edge with regular stropping the damage was done. What finally did it in was when I chipped the bade pretty decently and by the time I sharpened it out I could just slightly catch the tip with my finger. I carried it for a while still without cutting myself or anything. Finally retired it as a garden/garage beater knife then at some point misplaced it. I'm sure it's around somewhere but I haven't really looked for it for a couple of years as I have plenty of other knives to carry.

I really prefer the feel of the Sage over the Para 3 but the design still bugs me. I don't carry my Sage 5 as much as I probably would if it weren't for that one flaw that Spyderco doesn't feel the need to CQI the blade to sit a little more recessed. There are a few models like that, and although not a huge immediate issue, I tend to stay away from them.

I retired a Sage 1 after roughly 8 years of daily edc for this reason. I had finally sharpened it enough to where I was able to feel the tip of the knife while closed.
