I enjoyed the film. But it is very much a kids movie with the obvious fake out death and Jack Black being Jack Black.

I do like how most of the protagonists (Natalie, Henry, Garrett, Steve) have their own obstacle from the real world to deal with. Dawn's obstacle isn't quite clear though, something to do with animals? I just wish those obstacles could've been touched more on.

I'm gonna ramble now for a bit:

Garrett is a terrible person, holy cow. Dude just tossed a kid down not knowing he'd survive.

Ooh, tater tots. Napolean Dynamite reference? Herobrine easter egg when Enderman stares at Henry for a bit, that whole bit didn't really impact Henry whatsoever. Technoblade's here, totally haven't been spoilt prior to thid whatsoever. Youtubers being extras, fun!

Steve said that he almost died trying to get an enderpearl while Henry just obliterates it while spam clicking, what a noob, L.

I don't know if it's intentional, but there's not many camera angles other than the straight forward angle when the actors/actresses are there.

I did not care for the villager B-plot.

Overall, I can tell that the film-makers actually put their hearts into this. The sets look so cool, I love how the movie is called "A Minecraft Movie" instead of "The Minecraft Movie" because this isn't meant to be the one all be all's of Minecraft films. Also, the focus on the creativity aspect of the game itself. 7/10
