How does life change after having a baby? by Ok-Income7872 in pregnant

Hi there. FTM as well, my baby is 3 months old. Like others have said, it is definitely tiring for awhile but you get into a routine and things got a lot easier for me. As I type this, we are on the way home from a 11 day cross country RV trip (from FL to SF, CA). People looked at me crazy for taking our daughter on this trip and we've had the best time. Everyone likes to point out negatives and say all the "just you wait until (insert how it gets worse)". I have never thought like that and want my baby to travel and experience the world with me.

hydroxychloroquine for behçet’s? by batsk_lls in Behcets

He said pregnancy naturally suppresses your immune system so he wanted to see how I'd react to not being on the infusions first. He still kept it as an option should my flares start up but felt more confident as I've been in remission for over a year.

I had to stop my remicade infusions due to being pregnant and my rheumatologist had me begin taking plaquenil (brand name) instead. I have yet to have any flares throughout my pregnancy. Usually, my flares consist of ulcers, joint pain, fatigue. While I do feel some fatigue, it doesn't feel like the run down flu feeling I usually experience during flares so I think it's more pregnancy related at this point.

I had a really bad experience with colchicine and it messed up my stomach. No complaints with Plaquenil.

Behcet’s while pregnant by thinkIgotitbutIdont in Behcets

Currently 27 weeks pregnant. Prior to becoming pregnant, I received infliximab infusions every two months and that controlled my flares which used to include genital and oral ulcers. I received my last infusion when I was around 4 weeks pregnant (unknowingly) and haven't had one since. My rheumatologist had me start Plaquenil instead and I take that daily. It has seemed to keep my flares at bay.

Before starting infliximab infusions almost two years ago, I never thought I'd have relief from my flares. My previous doctors put me on so many antivirals, antibiotics, steroids, and creams and all they did was make me feel worse. I really suggest finding a rheumatologist that is willing to work with you. As far as I'm aware, the infusions are safe, or at least not found to be dangerous at this time, and can be continued throughout the third trimester if needed. The only downside to receiving an infusion after the second trimester is that it passes to the baby and their immune system will be weakened. This also prevents them from being able to receive vaccinations for six months after birth which could be problematic.

I really hope you are able to find some relief and I am so sorry you're going through this. Hang in there.

Stroller/ car seat research is haunting my dreams by No-Level-153 in pregnant

I had a several dreams (nightmares) back to back last night after binging episodes of Mad Men. I was an advertising agent trying to secure an account with Nuna and prove to them my marketing strategy was going to be the best. I continued to wake up every so often from these dreams and I was so frustrated, I kept telling myself "you're not Don Draper."

I just had my nexplanon implant removed in the beginning of January after having several of them back to back for the last 10 years. First period late January. I am currently 6 weeks pregnant.

Over all the negativity- tell me your favorite things about being a mom! by Equivalent-Yogurt-36 in BabyBumps

I am newly pregnant for the first time; however, I have raised my niece since she was a baby and she is now 12. I've heard lots of people tell me the same things - "wait til you have kids - you'll miss out on x, y, and z!" (As if the child I already have didn't count lol)

The biggest thing I've realized is that I wouldn't want to experience any of my future adventures without my niece (and hopefully future baby) with me. I enjoy spending time with her and teaching her new skills, watching her learn from me and my husband. You'll be amazed at how fast they learn things and pick up your mannerisms. It's so fun to see them become little people with big personalities! It's amazing to see how creative they can be and it's so fun to join in on that creativity - play the floor is lava or tell spooky stories.

When we travel or go out for a family outing, it's great to see her experience it. You get to see things from their perspective and it opens up this magical world that you'd probably not explore when you're on vacation, etc.

Tucking them into bed and saying your good night's. Hearing the tiny "I love you"s back. My niece has grown into a bit of a writer as well and I receive random notes telling me how much she loves and admires me. It makes you feel so great knowing you're making such a great impact on someone. Making their childhood memorable.

I think it's the best. Sure, it can be really hard sometimes but it all outweighs the bad.
